Midweight Digital Designer

High-end e-commerce company within the Travel/Lifestyle sector looking for a Digital Designer to join their creative department. Looking for someone with evidence and experience of working with strong competitive brands. Should have experience on all digital platforms including web, mobile, apps and social media. Great company to work for and have great creative office culture and structure.

Responsibilities:

Working with senior management and the creative and tech team (IA/UX, developers, designers/art directors, writers and editor) to evolve and develop a new visual language for the companies online presence.
Developing on brand digital communications that demand engagement (includes editorial content, display banners and emails)
Implementing clear communication and considered design across
Producing gorgeous website and mobile screen designs and mock-ups, rapidly.
Solving complex digital problems and turning them into amazing, pixel-perfect designs.
Creating, updating and following detailed design and brand guidelines for the company.
Contributing to the creative department and company to champion, instigate and implement behaviour that changes ideas and design work
Desired experience and skills:
A solid degree in a design or arts related subject, from a accredited university.
An understanding of User Experience within e-Commerce or content-led web sites.
Proven experience and impeccable skills designing fluid web, mobile and app interfaces in Adobe Creative Suite (Primarily Photoshop).

Able to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional quality of creative output.
Turning wireframes and sketches into compelling digital designs is second nature to you.
You're proud of an amazing portfolio of digital design work that spans site design, mobile, apps, display advertising and marketing.

HTML, CSS, Javascript – or at least an understanding of these technologies and their potential/restrictions.
Understanding of gesture-enabled UI and touch screen interfaces.
Experience in designing world-class, innovative experiences for up-scale, image-led brands will be a big advantage.
Personal Qualities:
You obsess about great design, layout, typography and photography, and you can articulate your rationale too.

A deep understanding that digital experiences and brands are living, breathing things that need constant love and nurture – not lifeless works on plinths in galleries.
You love working with and defending your ideas to your top tier colleagues
A forward thinker, both strategically and creatively, who’s plugged in to design, emerging technologies and all things interactive.
Ability to work with direction if needed but also initiate new designs and concepts independently.
