Midweight Digital Designer

Our client are a small digital agency, part of a wider group that provide services across the creative spectrum, from video production to content creation and the full remit of design services.

They are seeking a talented mid-level to senior level digital designer to join their team. You’ll be working across digital, video, editorial and branding projects across a client base that includes some of the UK’s leading retail and technology brands. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the intricacies of the Adobe Creative Suite and in particular Photoshop. This is a hands-on role for an ambitious and truly creative digital designer who is extremely adaptable and willing to get stuck in.

The Senior Designer will report to the Lead Designer but will have significant daily contact with the accounts team led by the Group Client Service Director.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

The current roles and responsibilities are outlined below. As the business grows, we expect these to change and develop.

• To take complex briefs from the account team and on occasion direct from external clients
• To present work and articulate creative executions at senior client level
• To effectively manage relationships with key client contacts
• To challenge clients on their requirements; in doing so, advising on best practice to optimise the effectiveness of their digital communications
• To work within client guidelines to produce innovative designs
• Produce comprehensive and accurate time estimates for work
• To work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines and always aware of budgets
• Support the Head of Studio and Account Management team in prioritisation of work load
• Have a responsible and ‘safe hands’ attitude toward projects

The Ideal Candidate:

• Be both conceptual and practical, to produce highly professional designs
• Produce accurate and detailed design documentation i.e. wireframes, functional specifications, sitemaps
• Have a flexible design style; able to create responsive layouts to suit a variety of platforms i.e. email, web, mobile etc
• Have an expert and informed opinion about the digital marketplace and deliver compelling arguments to design challenges
• Keep up to date with the latest design innovations and online trends
• Have a positive and passionate approach with a can-do attitude
• Encourage, motivate and support other team members
• Provide, and often lead, useful contributions to team meetings and conversations
• Be thoughtful and constructive during presentations and critiques
• Produce clear and concise verbal and written communications
• Be an expert user of design tools (Adobe suite)
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of search engines, web standards, accessibility

This client are an independently owned digital design and build agency established in 2006. They have a lovely studio space located in South London and are fast expanding. They are strategists, designers, and technologists who share a passion for creating great ideas and translating them into engaging, intelligent and innovative user experiences.
