Aquent is seeking for a Mid-Level Visual Designer to join an in-house Creative Agency with a Media/Entertainment client in NYC. Need a great visual designer that has potentially worked in advertising or with brands and knows some HTML, CSS, and experience with AS2/3 Flash animation for some simple banner work.

Seeking a Visual Designer who’s passionate about great design, has a superb aesthetic sense, an eye for details, and constantly seeks to understand a user's needs. Our ideal candidate understands how to confidently research, craft, and communicate their designs, and gets excited at the prospect that it will be viewed by millions of users.

In this role, you have a passion for building brands through campaign level thinking and execution for clients designing robust user experiences across an entire portfolio of cross-platform digital properties. As part of this entrepreneurial and strategic team you will concept/prototype designs and bring your ideas to life with a strong depth of skill
using advanced digital technologies and design tools. You will work with the Creative Director, Interactive Designers, Front-End Developer, and external vendors to design and produce compelling digital experiences that include new cutting-edge ad products, web applications, rich media advertising, responsive website experiences, and pitch materials. You will collaborate with the Creative Director to brainstorm ideas and ways to push new innovations/strategy to market.

The Visual Designer is a forward thinker that excels at pushing the envelope creatively through expertise, best practices, and efficient design workflow. You possess the skills to take project goals/objectives and produce exceptional designs under a deadline-driven environment seeing the entire project through to completion including final production.

Key Responsibilities/Accountables:
• Creates the visual design and UX for a given project
• Maintains the quality of design throughout all phases of the project
• Partners with the Creative Director to ensure that various aspects of design work meet both Discovery’s and clients’ expectations and brand goals
• Execute and develop work as necessary with the highest standards and attention to detail
• Quickly and efficiently build prototypes and wireframes
• Develop/build campaign elements for clients and sees all stages of creative through to project completion

Requirements/Qualifications:
• 4-5+ years experience designing in web, mobile, advertising, and typography with an award winning online portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, exceptional design, and proficiency of development/functionality
• Expert-level experience in Adobe CC suite
• 1-2+ years of experience in rich media development
• 2+ years of online advertising experience
• 2+ years experience designing for cross-platform responsive digital experiences
• 2+ years proven proficiency with HTML/5 and CSS/3
• 2+ years experience/fundamentals in Flash (AS2/AS3) animation and development
• Proven proficiency of web design tools, technologies and best practices, design development protocols, browser compatibility publishing software, user-experience design, quality assurance processes, online advertising models, and multimedia production
• Passion for staying abreast of current/new design trends
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated, enthusiastic and a collaborative spirit
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines that shift at a moments notice
• Bachelor’s Degree in graphic/interactive design, development or related field
• Agency, advertising, or digital/interactive experience
• Portfolio (online and functional) of current/previous work
