Our client is seeking a superstar User Experience Designer to join their growing team in the Denver area. This position is 40 hours a week onsite in Centennial, CO and the contract would run through the end of the year with potential to extend beyond that. Comes with a full benefits package.

This team is charged with developing next generation digital learning experiences for students and teachers in higher education. In this role, you will use your strong visual and interaction design skills to collaboratively create the look and feel and UI components for the Next generation of digital learning solutions which elevate the teaching and learning experience like never before.

Responsibilities:
● Define the user experience of our digital products and online applications by developing user interface wireframes, page flow/task flow designs, navigation and information architecture that engage and delight the end user.
● Collaborate with user researchers to validate and test your ideas.
● Work with UX designers, prototypers, product managers and engineers to deliver compelling designs to market that satisfy user goals and enhance learning and teaching.
● Evangelize the role of user experience design across the company
● Make user experience design recommendations based on usability standards and industry best practices.
● Contribute to the corporate UX design standards and framework.
● Mentor junior staff on interaction design principles and processes.
● Successfully present your designs to a cross-functional product team to elicit constructive feedback and actively participate in others’ design reviews.


Desired Skills & Experience
• At least five years work experience with application UX design is preferred in a technology-centered company.
• Experience in the educational field a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design or related discipline required, Masters degree a plus.
• Embody the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and working with super-smart colleagues from numerous departments and locations
• Working knowledge of common design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, MS Office, Visio, Axure, Balsamiq and OmniGraffle
• Solid visual and interaction design skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others across the organization
• Fluent in usability standards and design heuristics and responsive design techniques
• Familiarity with user-centered research, such as usability testing, contextual inquiry, and field interviews
• Ability to successfully design in an Agile software development environment
• Familiarity with technical issues around web development and ability to work constructively with development teams, including but not limited to understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience in designing for tablet and smartphone
• Experience with 508 Compliancy/Accessibility a major plus
• Candidate must provide portfolio or examples of work
