Merchandising Product Specialist

Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Merchandising Product Specialist for a 7–month assignment.

The Global Merchandising team owns content programming within the online store across all regions and verticals (Apps, Games, Music, Movies and TV, and Books & Magazines). As part of the Merchandising team, you will impact millions of users every day by providing great recommendations and offers to users. As the Books Merchandising Product Specialist, you will work on important upcoming product features with big impact.

Top Responsibilities:
1. Determine the quarterly strategic goals of our customer lifecycle promotions program, work with the regional Merchandising teams and Customer Relationship Management team to execute, and work with the Analytics teams to assess results and make recommendations for future programs
2. Create experiment plans for the US market to test things like pricing, placement, messaging, offers, etc.
3.Work with the Product team on the roll out of a new recommendations system

Responsibilities:
- Shape the merchandising plan for a new product feature - where merchandising will appear, how content will be organized, how it’ll be featured, how price promotions will work, and how the Merchandising team will program the content on a weekly basis
- Be the liaison between the global Books Merchandising team and the Merchandising Analytics team - gather requirements and work with the Analytics team to execute them

Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a product, marketing, or partnerships role for an online commerce or digital content business.
- Experience with publishing or books retail
- Knowledge of and experience with online merchandising best practice
- Ability to advise on strategies and product requirements to enhance merchandising capabilities
- Strong analytical skills; ability to take apart research or performance data, draw insights and apply those insights to optimize merchandising strategy
- Track record for successful prioritization, meeting critical deadlines, and enthusiastically tackling challenges with an eye toward problem solving
- Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams who do not report into this role to get things done
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
