Merchandise Assistant Work effectively as a member of the cross functional Gap Brand team by communicating clearly and focusing on team objectives. Manage Samples. Keep samples organized and up to date for use in merchant presentations, visual set-ups, and seasonal marketing. Work seasonally with other MA's to donate samples selected by Merchandising. Enter and approve markdowns, markups, and promotions. Ensure accuracy of markdowns, promotional pricing and effective dates. Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and increase efficiency. Complete seasonal projects for merchants. Maintain reports and tools, as needed by merchant team. Advanced computer skills in Excel and email with an aptitude for learning new programs. Demonstrate strong ability to be financially responsible and understand financial implications of mistakes. Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities. Strong ability to identify and execute priorities with a sense of urgency. Handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Have a pro-active approach to responsibilities. Strong communication and relationship/team skills. 2 year degree, 4 year degree preferred. Retail experience preferred

True Title: Online Inventory Specialist (OIS)

Job Description: The OIS assists merchandise planning/merchandising in daily activities needed to run an efficient and profitable business. Major responsibilities include order and price management.

Top 3-5 required skills- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines; strong attention to detail; demonstrates logical analysis and problem solving skills; demonstrates strong listening, written, and oral communication skills; able to build and maintain productive relationships; technology proficiency, including the ability or aptitude to learn technical applications; proficient in Microsoft excel

Top 3-5 daily responsibilities: Coordinate with Production and GIS to create and maintain complete and accurate style and order details in the Order Management System (Prompt); record all changes communicated by brand production team and/or merchant; manage the monthly receipt reconciliation process to provide an accurate financial record of open orders; complete outstanding purchase order work (i.e. color and size breakdowns, packing details) on a timely basis; track incoming orders to ensure timely delivery and communicate any issues to appropriate contacts (brand production, IM, merchants, logistics, DC); initiate process to prioritize orders, as needed; provide cross functional teams with timely and accurate receipt status, style and delivery changes; maintain accurate regular, promotional, and markdown online pricing for both shared and exclusive styles Scope of the job: 1-2 divisions

Type of background you are looking for: College education or equivalent experience required; previous experience in retail, merchandising office helpful; experience in eCommerce strongly preferred

Software skills: Technology proficiency, proficient in excel
