Merchandiser Assistant

Our large retail Fortune 500 client is seeking a talented Merchandiser Assistant! This is a 3 month contract position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide daily clerical support to merchandising team such as order creation, quotation, cost sheet, shipment report and so on
• Prepare delivery dates and facilitate the order placement process with suppliers, collect and distribute relevant information
• Prepare contracts, contract folders and ensure the accuracy of all files and documents for production
• Assist the merchandising team during buying trip such as merchandise sample preparation and display and also assist in preparing presentation materials, etc.
• Maintain and keep the filing records systematically
• Assist the Merchandiser(s) to follow up with orders
• Assist in preparing development samples, collect and distribute relevant information
• Follow up on sample requests (counter, approval, photo and pre-production samples) and approval of colors and samples prior to production; provide accurate, up-to-date and timely information to factories
• Follow up samples submissions, samples testing and samples reports
• Work closely with supervisors, factories and vendors to develop samples and prepare orders
• Ensure timely and accurate data input to the system
• Prepare QA folder to QA Department for inspection
• Maintain the accuracy and completion of internal tracking reports
• Work with cross functional teams in areas such as color approvals, Quality Assurance inspections, and lab testing.
• Timely follow up on the weekly submission of vendor Time & Action calendar and QA WIP reports
• Act as a liaison with vendors, Sourcing teams, Buying teams, and other supporting departments.
• Overall, provide support to Merchandise Manager and management in other areas
• Provide feedback to Manager on the progress of order processing each season

Must be a self-starter who can work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be able to extract and analyze data in order to make critical decisions.
Must possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
Embraces a style of accountability, continuous improvement and acts with a sense of urgency
Very strong proficiency using Microsoft Office
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Excellent organizational skills to manage vendor and contract base
Ability to communicate effectively with others in an international business environment
Bilingual or more is a plus
