Meetings Marketing Manager

Our client, a well known association in Old Town Alexandria, has an immediate opening for a creative, tech-savvy meetings marketing manager in a busy meetings department. This Manager of Meetings Marketing will be part of a dynamic sales and marketing team.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

*develop and implement marketing plans and strategy for 90 meetings per year, including webinars and an annual conference; drive conference attendance; and support staff in all efforts of promoting meetings and selling exhibits and sponsorships
*work with various departments and staff moderators to develop and implement marketing plans for educational conferences, meetings, webinars, newsletters and marketing collateral, with special attention on creating new ways to attract attendees using both email and non-email forms of communication
*produce content and design for an average of 30 promotions per month, including but not limited to: broadcast emails, brochures, direct mail pieces, conference marketing materials and newsletters, banner ads and logos for meetings
*evaluate market conditions, perform customer research and implement marketing plan changes as needed
*measure and monitor ROI on marketing initiatives
*write and lay out bi-weekly electronic meetings newsletter
*monitor and update websites for individual meetings
*develop print and electronic sales-support materials for staff in charge of selling exhibits and sponsorships

Requirements for Position:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business administration and a minimum of 5 years of related marketing experience, preferably at an association
• Candidate needs to be especially tech savvy and possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Powerpoint and Acrobat; as well as be proficient in using Mac and PC platforms. Knowledge of Constant Contact, Adobe Illustrator and Windows Live Writer are a plus
• Strong organizational and project management skills required, with ability to manage projects from conception to completion and produce results under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills required, including written, verbal and interpersonal
• Experience in building brand image, with extensive knowledge of e-marketing, social media and database marketing strategies and techniques
• Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate a busy department
• Some travel required
