Job responsibilities are:
• Fact-checking manuscripts, layouts, and digital projects
• Annotating references, manuscripts, and layouts for fact-checking and client submissions
• Editorial review of jobs routed through the team for cold reads, full edits, and/or proofreading; editing per AMA style
• Supporting the copy team in referencing/sourcing copy
• Supporting the copy team in researching new references and clinical/scientific data, and obtaining primary references when needed
• Maintenance of comprehensive editorial style guides according to med-legal-regulatory reviews and other events that affect content and style
• Maintenance of key claims documents for individual brands
• Maintenance and continuous organization of an electronic library of references

• Cooperative, helpful, and positive with team members and clients
• Proactive, willing to search for information instead of waiting for others to provide it
• Willing to listen to feedback and to learn when it's appropriate to:
o Offer alternative editorial solutions or accept approved content
• Available to work late on occasion, sometimes on a weekend, to meet deadlines
• Willing to do whatever it takes for our copy team to produce high-quality, creative work
• Familiar with pharmaceutical advertising, marketing, and promotion:
o AMA style, medical journal papers, clinical trial ISE and ISS data on file documents, professional medical societies, strategic promotion, call-to-action, response mechanisms, pharma sales tools, peer review, referencing and annotations, disease state education, mechanism of action (MOA), efficacy and safety claims, core visual sales aids, sales training materials, PI updates, new indication launches, etc
• Knowledgeable about FDA regulations in drug promotion:
o On-label vs off-label, prescribing information (PI), brief summaries, fair balance, important safety information (ISI), "Please see" lines, boxed warnings
• Experienced in MS Word; know (or be quick) to learn advanced word processing (eg, section breaks, track changes, commenting) for manuscript templates required for digital manuscripts
• Experienced in Adobe Professional mark-up and commenting for electronic team routing and client comments; able to edit/revise in PowerPoint, as needed
Bachelor’s degree required
