We are recruiting for our Client- multinational professional services firm headquartered in London. They are looking to hire a Media Relations Associate Director.

The Global Media Relations team is charged with promoting its brand, purpose, reputation and businesses around the world. The team works closely with its global leadership across all its businesses and industry sectors.
The principal focus of this role is to help build the global media profile of the Client’s rapidly growing practice and its leaders in support of its reputational and business goals.

As part of the Global Media Relations team, the role will work closely with group leadership to create and implement public relations (PR) plans, programs and materials to engage with the international media. It also assist it’s global network of media relations professionals around in the world in engaging with the media in their respective geographies.

The ideal candidate is a polished professional with the gravitas to advise clients on communications strategies and initiatives and coach on media techniques/initiatives. Additional, the candidate has excellent storytelling and writing skills, and will ultimately be considered a valued extended team member of the business team. With long term goals in mind, associate director develops, executes and measures plans, messages and tactics that build toward these aims.

The role will specifically involve raising and maintaining a high profile and presence in the media for key Transaction Advisory Services leadership. The day-to-day contact with leadership and nature of this role as a senior advisor require a candidate with extensive experience in an advisory capacity.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Work as an advisor to the company leadership and team
• Develop and execute measurable PR plans and programs in support of division’s brand and business goals
• Position key global executives as experts on key industry issues and hot topics by proactively identifying opportunities for comment or pitching reports
• Prepare press release, pitches, reports, briefing documents and other materials for launches of global surveys, studies and campaigns; assist with the distribution of press releases and reports via the global media relations network
• Establish and expand journalist network and a contact program
• Communicate regularly with the company global PR network on various initiatives and briefing/supporting them where appropriate
• Develop a strong PR calendar and track features in relevant media
• Successfully manage all media inquiries and issues
• Form part of the senior leadership of the global PR team, supporting company Global with its overall brand building and reputational goals.

Knowledge, Competency and Skill Requirements:

• Ability to guide clients in building effective media programs and engaging with the international media
• Extensive experience in managing and advising senior leadership on a day-to-day basis
• A self-starter with a “can do” attitude and the drive and enthusiasm to get the job done; demonstrate the potential to develop within the organization
• An understanding of, and keen interest in, print and broadcast media relations; strong media relationship development experience
• Good existing relationships with producers at broadcast media (including CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN and BBC World) and general business and markets writers at key international media (including Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, Dow Jones)
• An understanding and knowledge of social media
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with countries around the globe
• Initiative, coupled with accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrate reliability
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to manage several projects concurrently; excellent time management and organizational skills
• A strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
• Excellent communications and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within the organization, including global leadership.

Other Requirements:

• This role will be based in London or New York
• Global travel will be required pending business needs.

Experience Requirements:
• An in-house or agency background and experience of working with corporate, financial or professional services organizations
• Experience managing high-profile events, ideally global events that involve a large number of countries
• Experience working with senior executives and managing individuals’ media profiles
