Media Product Manager

The Converged Media Product Manager is a contractor role within the Converged Media Program responsible for the product governance of all Converged Media digital publishing tools and systems that power NBCU 2nd Screen and Social TV corporate initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

- Central point for capturing, documenting, and prioritizing with proper stakeholders internal product feedback, bugs, new feature requests, and ideas for product improvements and successful adoption
- Engaging regularly with tools vendors and technology partners for detailed description of user stories (features/bugs), product requirements documentation, SOWs and prioritization discussions
- Engaging regularly with internal customers and product stakeholders for capturing product needs, negotiate scope, and provide updates on progress, product roadmap
- Collaborating with other functional areas of the team and the company such as Digital Distribution, , Broadcast Operations, Ad Ops/Sales, Advanced TV, Research, Design/UX, Customer Support and others to develop and respond to customer needs and market opportunities as well as product life cycle management
- Managing of product roadmap, emphasizing on features that make tools friendlier, more automated and deeply integrated with NBCU production workflows and other publishing systems within the company
- Communicating internally product releases, roadmap, and news updates in general with key product stakeholders and executives
- Leading the product acceptance process, assisting in QA and ensuring that new releases and functionality meet company quality standards and customers’ expectations
- Providing product expertise and training to team producers, support staff and tools users

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of digital technology experience in either a product, creative, or development role
- Minimum of 3 years of product development or product launch experience with emphasis on online publishing systems and consumer sites/applications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with customers to understand their needs, capture requirements, and build project plans


- Experience or familiarity with the media business and digital content distribution technologies
- Skilled at both verbal and written communication, able to translate customers’ needs and strategic vision into clear and concise requirements
- Understanding and experience with the latest technology and digital trends, including 2nd Screen/Social TV applications, Social Media, Connected Devices, and Emerging Technology in general
- Skilled in web concepts such as XML/JSON APIs, content management systems (CMS), HTML5, and CSS
- Strong aptitude for reading/creating technical documentation, standards, and creating formulating/materializing system integrations with 3rd party platforms based on multiple SDKs/APIs
- Strong Agile software development and project management methodology experience
- Excellent organizational skills
