Media Licensing Administrator/Specialist

Our client is looking for a Media Licensing Administrator to work with other licensing staff in negotiating and obtaining clearances for the use of images, video and audio in various products. Licensing staff work closely and collaboratively with Image and Audio editors within the group. These photo editors and music supervisors help teams across the company and source and obtain the best quality, most appropriate media. The team is a central service organization that includes image editors, music supervisors, an image production group, contracts administration and internal tools dev and support staff.


You will possess superior verbal and written communication skills, as your job will involve constant communication with many groups across the company as well as outside vendors.

You will consult with a variety of product groups, assessing licensed media needs in collaboration with product teams and editorial staff.

You will help negotiate contract terms, business processes and license fees with image and video providers such as stock photo agencies, news agencies, independent photographers and publishers and music and audio providers such as record labels and music publishers, in order to obtain the necessary rights to use their content in all products.

You will be responsible for crafting license language with LCA and FTE help, including edits and thorough proofreading to meet the needs of various media uses for various product groups.

You will need to understand the balance between legal risk and business needs as these pertain to image copyrights and third-party rights issues. You will need to effectively summarize these issues and subjects for your clients and vendors.

You will manage long-standing relationships with many vendors as well as establish relationships with new vendors.

You will balance on-going negotiations with daily urgent requests for image, video, and music licenses.

The mix and balance of these responsibilities is likely to change over time.
