Marketing/Events Coordinator

Description: 
The Marketing Coordinator has two primary responsibilities: to lead and direct all trade shows and events for the company, as well as develop and drive marketing campaigns for CRU. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Marketing Coordinator will be asked to perform other marketing and sales support tasks as they arise. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties are as assigned) 

Manages the development of trade show strategies and schedules and coordinates related promotional project activities; attends selected trade shows. 
Acts as the primary logistics and support person for trade shows and marketing events. Secures products, literature, giveaways, rental equipment, and trade show booth properties in a timely manner and coordinates shipments of these materials to/from events. 
Maintains and communicates the tradeshow and event calendar, including website, partner communications, and internal email signatures and notices. 
Manages the development and coordination of other sales and marketing events for the company, including the securing of venues, working with partners, coordinating the recruitment of attendees, and following up to ensure leads are managed properly. 
Writes company descriptions and other information for event program guides and websites; coordinates the development of advertising materials for events. 
Creates marketing communications materials as needed. 
Performs event-related campaign and program development activities in conjunction with members of the internal marketing and sales teams. 
Works with outside vendors to obtain giveaways and materials used for company promotional purposes. 
Monitors and maintains marketing budgets and usage, working with the accounting team to resolve issues as necessary. 
Displays excellent writing and communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers, coworkers, partners, and vendors. 
Maintains a professional demeanor including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure, effectively present ideas, and sell management and coworkers on ideas to achieve desired goals. 
A self-starter mentality, yet works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. 
Respectfully takes direction from manager. 
Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance. 
Has eye for detail, especially in written materials, problem solving skills, and demonstrates new ideas for keeping shows interesting and engaging for customers. 
Maintains customer databases and generates internal database information, such as lists and counts for direct marketing projects. 
Compiles and produces sales and marketing reports, including status reports. 
Tracks, collates, and maintains inventory of marketing materials. 
Maintains inventory of photos and other artwork, and maintains marketing literature, archive files, and sample files. 
Coordinates trade show exhibits, promotions, packaging, shipping, and staff travel plans, and travels to and participates in trade shows when necessary. 
Helps prepare for involvement in community organizations and events.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
Mathematical Skills 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
Computer Skills 
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, social media, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software. 
Reasoning Ability 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
