Marketing Specialist I - Santa Clara

Position Title: Customer Reference Specialist (Contractor)

Description of Function: The Customer Reference Specialist is responsible for working directly with our Network Security business unit for data protection (DLP) technologies and customers. The Reference Specialist supports the South/Latin America geography, Sales, and two Customer Reference Managers. To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess strong principles of project management, be a highly collaborative and adaptable individual, and continually grow both verbal and written customer interviewing skills.

Responsibilities:
- Sales Requests: Manage the mailbox/queue of requests for sales deals, including customer sales calls, asset delivery and customer list pulls (an average of 150 per quarter).
- First-Contact: Perform routine outreach to recruit and secure customers for participation in various 1:1 peer reference calls, written case studies, conference speakers, and geo-specific/local events request.
- Collaboration: Attend monthly meetings with the DLP product solutions marketing lead/team and maintain ongoing pipeline and updates on reference development.
- Program Management: Consistently host monthly LTAM meetings (time zones) to gather feedback into regional/language specific needs and plans, target and complete case studies for the geo.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Set up customer interviews, obtain customer approvals, finalize templates (brand), internal approvals (legal) publishing (Web) to mcafee.com.
- Assets: Develop reference materials to support marketing activities such as regional product launches, media and analyst quotes, social and web marketing campaigns and sales requests.
- Communications: Responsible for syndicating assets via outbound notifications to Social, Marcom, Product & Solutions Marketing, Field Marketing, and Support teams.
- Special Projects: Take on various requests for information and projects from the VP of Competitive Intelligence and Customer Insight.

Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in marketing (customer marketing, product marketing, or field marketing).
- 1-2 years of customer service experience or previous customer reference experience an asset.
- Ability to develop customer relationships and commitment to numerous reference activities with required (external) deadlines and (internal) expectations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client/stakeholder relationship skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Communications required or complementary degree
