Marketing Specialist

This exciting role will join the Marketing Communications team as a key member of centralized group which manages our integrated marketing channels. As our program and digital audience continues to grow and evolve, the Social Media Content and Community Marketing Specialist, will serve as the voice of our brand to current fans, potential fans, and general consumers, in online social networks & social media, and will be responsible for strengthening our deep relationships online through both native and paid/promoted initiatives.
Specific accountabilities include:
1) Social Channel Management
a. All listening, posting & responding on behalf of Xbox to our customers / followers through a variety of social media channels (eg. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr…)
b. Provide strategic direction and recommendations on social channel optimization
c. Ownership of Social Media editorial calendar in collaboration with digital/demand marketing lead, product/category, and integrated marketing team
d. Create the digital/social extension of all marketing campaigns
e. Work with media agency to provide strong paid/promoted presence online
f. Grow engagement of our owned social/digital audiences through interactions and earned media value
g. Grow size of our owned social/digital audience (fans/followers/opt-ins/influencers)
h. Increase value of social/digital audience
2) Social Listening and Analytics
a. Ongoing social listening & outreach processes (eg. identify & engage beyond our assets)
b. Tracking, reporting, analysis & insight generation for Social Media (eg. what’s working or not, ideas for innovation)
c. Using Social Technology tools (eg. Sprinklr)
d. Provide ongoing competitive benchmarking, best practices and innovation ideas to team
e. Staying abreast of digital/social trends
3) Content Creation and Maintenance
a. Creating and curating audience and customer-centric digital content across a variety of formats (images, videos, etc.) to support product, program, and cultural beats
b. Use analytics and testing to inform content/course correct daily
4) Project Management & Collaboration
a. Playing a key role in collaborating and coordinating activities with both Canadian and Global Social Marketing teams
b. Collaborating with agency partners, global and local stakeholders, to plan, ideate & execute activities
c. Apply strong project and budget management skills to oversee all marketing projects and deliver actionable results on-time and within financial scope
5) Community/Influencer Engagement
a. Developing influencer outreach programs
b. Maintaining strong relationships with our key Canada community members

Requirements:
• 3-5 years of consumer, brand based marketing experience, preferably in gaming or tech
• 3+ years of social/digital communication and engagement specific marketing experience
• Demonstrated superior writing and content creation skills
• Strong experience/understanding in Paid/Promoted social media
• Strong knowledge in analytics/measurement tools / Experience with relevant technology & reporting tools
• Demonstrated high level of collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups - Team player, and ability to work in a high energy environment
• Understand how to create brand appropriate voice that can build authentic, relevant, interactive relationships in social media
• Energetic self-starter, with bias for action and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Proven results in social/digital marketing campaigns as outlined above
• Strong understanding of paid digital/social media tactics
• Experience managing performance of agencies
• Excellent communication and copy-writing skills
• Currently maintain an active presence in online space across a variety of social media platforms (Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / YouTube / Tumblr / Vine / SnapChat)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Bonus: Fluency in French is an asset
• Bonus: Demonstrated connection with our primary audience (Gamers, entertainment enthusiasts, early adopters)
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Journalism and/or relevant work experience
• Flexible work hours (as some activities will require support outside traditional 9am-5pm)
