Marketing Specialist

Our client is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join their OEM team. The OEM team is responsible for devices, server products. The partners the team works with spans consumer and commercial. This role will primarily focus on programs for end customers in the consumer space as well as B2B marketing to small business resellers.

Responsibilities:
1. E-tail partners: You will be responsible for planning and executing marketing programs on a quarterly basis for e-tail accounts. This includes planning quarterly programs with the Marketing Lead and Sales Manager and autonomous day-to-day execution and program monitoring with the partner directly. You will work closely with the Sales Manager to land programs and gather results that will be reported back to the team. These partners target end customers that are mostly consumer; some small business-related programs as necessary.

2. Marketing support for OEM accounts. The Marketing lead works closely with the account managers to plan and land marketing programs with the top OEM partners. You may be required to help support some of these programs with the accounts. Examples include, creating a piece of marketing collateral, getting web banners produced through an agency, etc.

3. This is a partner facing role and the candidate must be professional and comfortable talking and presenting to partners and small groups. They must also be comfortable speaking up during team meetings – with ideas, input and be an overall contributing member of the team.

Marketing:
• Leverage content and creative from corporate and adapt it for your Canadian partners. This includes brochures, sell sheets, web banners, landing pages and creative. You may need to create original content sometimes.
• Plan and execute marketing programs that help to achieve our teams’ sales targets. You will be responsible for working with the marketing lead to identify the programs you want to run ahead of the quarter starting; working with the account manager to get partner sign off and legal contracts signed; all program execution with the partner; collect outcomes and results from the program; present program and results in monthly team meeting (OEM team – 10 people)
• Experience in online marketing in order to make recommendations to etailer websites to better position products and offers. Etailers also have store fronts and you will be required to work with the retail team to leverage creative assets and signage that can be used in etailer store fronts.
• Be comfortable talking and presenting to partners over the phone or in person. The role may also involve talking to sales reps in stores to get them excited about the marketing program.
• This role is within the OEM team and requires each member to be advocates of the latest OEM devices (tablets, touch PCs, 2in1s etc). The right candidate will have a passion for technology, be comfortable giving a demo (we can train you) to partners and/or our team.

Required Skills:
• Self starter
• Creative in terms of coming up with new programs

• Online marketing experience; comfortable leveraging social media
• Worked in a previous partner facing role (atleast 1 year experience)
• Strong Office suite skills, especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• B2C and B2B marketing experience

Project Management:
You must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently with different partners. You need to be organized and be detailed oriented. Ongoing partner follow up will be required (via email, phone and in-person) to make sure programs are executed on time and on budget. You will be responsible for managing a $100K budget for your marketing activities – this includes creating a purchase order, making sure the partner provides an invoice and activities are carried out correctly. You need to be assertive (when required) to make sure your deadlines are met as you will need to depend on other people to help you complete your projects.

Administrative:
• From time to time you will need to assist the marketing lead with data entry into an online tool.
• Assisting the sales managers and marketing managers to open POs via the Finance system – it’s an easy tool to learn.
• Ad-hoc projects supporting the entire team
• Budget management, including reconciliation of purchase orders on a quarterly basis to make sure we don’t over spend or under spend as a team. We have existing finance tools that we use to manage this. Working knowledge of Excel and attention to detail are important.
• Representing the team in meetings, updating the rest of the team on outcomes and actions

Travel:
The role requires some travel within to partner sites. You may be required to travel nationally based on scope of the program.

• Completed post-secondary degree in marketing or equivalent + 3 years of related work experience
• Professional and confident demeanor, especially with partners
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Technically adept – researching latest technology trends, trying new devices, showing people how to use new technology (tablets)
• Analytical and ability to review and interpret data/program results
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong team player
