Marketing Specialist- Non-Profit/Cause-Marketing

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of all of the marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities. Assists in event fundraising planning and manages distribution of marketing collateral. Supports all programs and fundraising activity. Must be self-motivated, hardworking and driven with a creative attitude. The Marketing Specialist plans and manages social media and public relations campaigns, develops email campaigns, newsletters and creates print and online publications.

Primary Accountabilities:
• Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing and public relations program that will enhance the image and brand.
• Ensures articulation of the mission while maintaining consistent communication.
• Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of print materials.
• Coordinates and implements social media campaigns via Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
• Coordinates the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
• Conducts regular market research and monitors trends.
• Support in-house IT/website staff with program content and updates.
• Creates new program and donor related print materials.
• Create and manage monthly newsletter.
• Effectively amplifies any cause marketing initiatives to maximize brand impact

Event Fundraising and Travel:
• May occasionally travel to domestic and international corporate held seminars to assess needs of the programs.
• Communicates with team members, corporate staff and seminar clients.
• Serves as a representative; attracts potential donors by providing information about our programs.
• Responsible for all on-site marketing materials.

Required Skills:
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit field or with a corporate cause-marketing background.
• Bachelors’ degree in journalism, marketing, public relations and or related field required.
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
• Commitment to working within a small team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
• Out-of-town, overnight travel may be required on occasion.
