Marketing Specialist - Pets

Our client's team is looking for an experienced marketer with strong project management and consumer insights to lead the strategic planning, execution, and analysis of category customer experience projects. This team is dedicated to providing customers a comprehensive destination for discovering and purchasing everything they need for their pet. It's an exciting time of big growth, big bets, and lots of innovation and experimentation, particularly within the marketing team, as we seek to reshape how customers buy pet products online.

The position will be working on a variety of projects to help the team while short staffed and during the busy holiday season. Examples of activities include conceptualizing then executing on-site content, analyzing merchandising and promotion results, vetting lists of potential new vendors to add to the platform, preparing materials for team to use at trade-show and executing follow up communications with vendors.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and have a demonstrated track record of successful project management/ownership, juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines, and using customer data to identify and prioritize opportunities. He/she is analytical, enthusiastic, customer-focused, and has strong writing skills. This person must be able to work at both a strategic level (generating new ideas to improve traffic growth and the customer experience) and at the tactical level (executing campaigns with site merchandising tools, analyzing traffic data, and solving problems). The environment is fast-paced and requires a candidate who is flexible, detail-oriented, and thrives in ambiguity.

Specific responsibilities include working with internal and external resources to:
•Plan, develop, and execute category and vendor merchandising programs
•Create engaging content to drive loyalty, repeat purchases, and cross shopping
•Analyze results of merchandising, traffic, and customer experience efforts
•Develop and implement projects to improve how customers identify, research, and buy our products

Basic Qualifications
•3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in online marketing, site merchandising, or other customer-facing functions
•End-to-end program management experience
•Comfort with a fast-paced environment
•Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications
•Familiarity with SQL, proficiency with HTML, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn in-house technology tools quickly
•Experience in cross team collaboration, working across an organization as an effective project manager
•Aptitude to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action
•Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a proven track record of writing customer-facing content that is on-brand, relevant, and tailored to the internet shopper
