Marketing Research Analyst

Full-time contract opportunity for a Marketing Research Analyst in Dallas, Texas. This position will support the US operations based in Dallas and will report directly to the Market Research Manager. This is a 6 to 12 month assignment.


Position Purpose:
Provide in-depth research, analysis and business intelligence to EOA marketing for use in market assessment, new business development and corporate strategy planning. The analyst will interface with external and internal partners to support both direct and indirect market research efforts. The analyst will be expected to deliver regular communications and/or briefings in support of strategic efforts.

Responsibilities:
• Conducts primary research among consumers (B to C) and eye care professionals (B to B).
• Works on quantitative and qualitative research and assist in all phases of the research such as study design, sample specifications, questionnaire/discussion guide development, analysis, and presentation of results.
• Manage studies and acts as a liaison to vendors and various levels of management.
• Provides recommendations and guidance to internal clients within Marketing as well to senior management based on the research findings.
• Supports and works with cross-functional teams to define market research needs and analysis requirements.
• Prepares timely, accurate and comprehensive research reports and analyzes and verifies the accuracy and techniques used in reports prepared by external vendors. This may also require presenting data in a business format (e.g. opportunity assessment, business case, or a white paper, etc.)
• Experience with statistical/analytical software (e.g. SPSS); able to generate cross-tabulations, conduct and interpret multivariate analysis; perform data cleaning and recoding as needed.
• Formally presents (orally and/or written) analyses, study results and solid business recommendations.
• Assists supervisor on other assigned duties, as needed.
• Performs all of the above with a high level of experience, professionalism, detail orientation, thoroughness and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS or BA in Marketing, Statistics, or Psychology combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing research and/or data analysis. Masters degree highly preferred especially Master in Marketing Research.
• Strong knowledge and experience with market research methodologies including qualitative and quantitative methods of analyses.
• Outstanding PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, internet and internal software.
• Strict accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills are required to effectively synthesize information and communicate direction to management.
• Comfortable and efficient working in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive approach and willingness to accept new projects and responsibilities as the department grows.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work on tight deadlines and handle the pressure of last minute requests.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented environment.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the work period.
