Marketing Project Manager (Channel Marketing Manager)

Aquent’s San Francisco Utility client is seeking a Marketing Project Manager for a contract opportunity.

The Marketing Project Manager will work to ensure execution of tactical channel elements as outlined by marketing plans in support of Customer Energy Solutions. The role focuses primarily on execution of marketing materials, from inception to the close of each campaign, and final billing reconciliation. Specifically, this position will have direct accountability for the development of collateral and printed materials, including but not limited to, fact sheets, case studies, catalogs, newsletters, direct mail, postcards, door hangers, bill inserts, banners, and more.

You will be expected to manage multiple projects at one time and ensure they are delivered on time, on budget, on plan, and with 100% accuracy. You will be able to achieve these goals by partnering closely with a broad, internal cross-functional team, subject matter experts, and external vendors.

This role is part of the Solutions Marketing Operations team and will provide direct support for residential customer outreach.

• Excellent understanding of creative development project management processes: developing creative or input document, developing and adhering to work back schedules, gaining approvals, managing layout, design and production of printed and electronic marketing materials, budget management, claims and legal approvals, etc.
• Proven record of guiding and implementing strategic collateral development with a customer focus.
• Proven record of managing multiple, external third parties such as agencies, printers, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly developed teamwork and collaborative skills especially in a matrixed environment.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple, high-priority projects,,meet deadlines, and work within stated budgets.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide-variety of cross-functional teams and build agreement.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve issues/problems.
• Solid decision-making skills and sound judgment.
• Strong desire to take initiative.
• At least two years of project management in marketing, advertising, print production and/or similar field.

• BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, or related field
• Experience working in residential customer marketing and outreach
• Familiarity with customer energy solutions products and services
• Eight or more years experience working in project management within marketing or a similar field.
• Strong bias for action and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Minimum of 5 years of experience with a proven track record managing, coordinating, planning all phases of various types of marketing projects such as one or more of the following:
Collateral development including sales kits, brochures, complex catalogs, white papers, case studies, forms, applications, event and retail POS/POP signage: managed all steps through to completion including writing a creative brief and copy decks, working with copywriters, designers, agencies and print vendors and manage overlapping time lines, work back schedules and work plans. Strategic input and direction for messaging, positioning, copy creation, art and design direction, printing, identifying final distribution channels, tracking, reporting and final archiving all assets and materials.

Print production: has at least 5 years experience and expert level experience with all of the following creative development, file set up and transfer, print vendor management, proofing process, color matching, final sign off at press checks, digital and offset printing

Brand strategy: demonstrated ability to interpret and apply brand standards, messaging platforms and make recommendations and manage expectations of all internal stakeholders

Website or intranet launch with multiple pages and varying types of interactive digital media, search functions, dynamic content, basic understanding of web design standards, reporting and tracking analytics

Fully managed numerous complex direct mail and email projects that included variable data and multiple file types and inserts, managing all the steps of an email campaign from list selection, design, testing, tracking and an understanding of best practices for content and imagery

Managed large events, tradeshows, seminars or programs that demonstrated a high level of project management skills, tracking multiple deadlines, stakeholders, processes and worked against a tight deadline

Expert level knowledge of microsoft office with proven experience with one or more of the following; creating animated powerpoints, using microsoft excel to create pivot tables or complex budget trackers or marketing plans, analyzing data in access

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite with demonstrated ability about files types, program functionality and usage to create design files, graphics and process photos

Experience with legal compliance, regulatory, cross functional teams and can manage competing interests and departments with strategic oversight, problem solving skills, building coalitions and alliances
