Aquent is looking for a Marketing Project Manager with an operations background for a national retail company in San Diego. As the Marketing Project Manager, you must possess strong project management skills, reporting, leadership, process development and be able to oversea a marketing team. You must demonstrate effective project management skills to ensure all projects are completed, approved and released on schedule. Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established guidelines. Troubleshoot and negotiate resolution to production schedule issues with goal to release projects on schedule. Partner with Associate Creative Director to ensure supportive and open communication of project status. Assist in systems implementation.

The Marketing Project Manager drives accountability to deadlines and deliverables for the marketing team and relevant cross-functional business partners. Will also serve as the primary point of contact for training new Marketing personnel and cross-functional business partners on the Marketing Operations Process.
Will work collaboratively with all marketing/advertising personnel.

Other Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and implementation of infrastructure improvements and system enhancements; manages the following systems for marketing operations: On-Line Proofing, Circular Production System. Supervise the development of the master production schedule. Manage projects from inception to completion through the Associate Creative Director (ACD) and clients and drive to on-time delivery of all projects; when necessary, negotiate solutions to issue. Communicate and negotiate with printers on projects involving the need for print and delivery to an insertion facility. Ensure the organization of project files.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business operations or a related curriculum. Requires a minimum of three years related operational experience coordinating time sensitive projects in a large corporate environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to process, develop, implement and troubleshoot all aspects of project management. The Marketing Project Manager must be comfortable utilizing advertising systems and be familiar with a MAC and PC environments. Must be technically savvy as well as knowledgeable of various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project Manager/Workflow) in order to be able to create and manipulate documents and spreadsheets as necessary.
