Responsible for facilitating the creation of both customer-facing and internal projects for Higher Education Field and Strategic Marketing. Projects are based on urgent market drivers such as events/conferences, campus visits, sales training, etc. Deliverables will include high-volume digital communications, quick turnaround projects and edits/updates to existing marketing assets such as flyers, posters, small-scale brochures, webpages, and internal training materials. Involves close collaboration with HE Project Managers, Strategic and Field Marketers, Creative and Production teams. Requires strong project management skills. Reports to Marketing Program Manager, Higher Ed.
I. Project Management
Be responsive to approximately 10+ Field Marketers, 2-3 Strategic Marketers, and 3 Marketing Project Managers on daily and/or as-need basis.
Act as internal contact and point person for Higher Ed email communications for Strategic Marketing team, adhering to a fixed, pre-determined deployment schedule.
Establish project purpose, call-to-action, asset location, need-by date, distribution, and all necessary info.
Launch projects via the project management database for design assignment.
Work with internal designers and production services to have appropriate designer and vendor assigned. Collect assets/content as needed.
Manage schedule and project tracking from start to finish, including request for appropriate coding for A/P purposes. Track project costs.
Initiate appropriate project meetings to kickoff projects and to effectively communicate project status with the requesting partner.
Review project deliverables (creative and copy) and evaluate fit with stated project goals; work with Creative team to revise as needed. Manage deliverables review and approval process with project requestor and other internal departments as required. Ensures quality and error-free materials.
Determine production and distribution specifications for each project. Coordinate with production group to insure execution activities meet time, budget and quality parameters required for the projects.
III. Experience - External
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years experience managing communications materials development and production and/or have experience working in digital or email marketing, preferably within a marketing department in a corporate environment or an advertising agency.
Strong project management skills.
Must be able to understand and demonstrate processes, knowledge of design and production tools for both print and electronic delivery.
Responsive, highly organized and detail-oriented; proactive problem-solver. People person.
This role is responsible for a large volume of communications from print to digital at the same time. Must be able to multi-task, plan and think ahead, and see the big picture.
Proficient in basic Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of InDesign and Adobe Acrobat. No design experience needed but understanding of basic capabilities of these programs will be helpful.
Ability to write some marketing copy or copyedit a plus
