Marketing Planning Lead

A full service digital agency headquartered in Brooklyn with offices worldwide is seeking a Planning Lead to join their team. This position is ongoing FREELANCE role with a potential to go PERMANENT!

Lead Planners partner with and provide leadership across cross-functional teams in execution of all insight discovery, digital strategy and marketing engagements. They’re responsible for the planning, development and execution of digital advertising and marketing programs and initiatives for some of the biggest brands in the world. They also play an active role as a subject matter expert and develop company-wide perspectives on trends and the use of emerging media in the marketplace. They always stay current on users, digital trends, best practices and user experiences.

Planners work to define scope, recommend approach and execution of strategy and strategic planning projects for clients. They identify marketing problems, assess client product and sales strategies to understand the implication on the user experience. They identify gaps to be filled through research, analyze trends/results to determine strategic implications, and lead cross-functional teams to meet and exceed client objectives. They’re on the cutting edge of digital media, constantly crafting ideas and connections that can be locally and globally implemented, showing an understanding of digital behaviors on a worldwide level. They’re ready to collaborate with cross functional project teams to motivate, create and implement short and long-term online marketing strategies, identify new opportunities for client growth, enforce processes and best practices across all engagements, and expand contacts with key client executives and maintain strong post-engagement relationships introducing new opportunities accordingly.

What we’d like to see:
 6+ years managing product life cycles and/or go-to-market campaigns in a digital/interactive/mobile/web environment and hands-on experience with user research.
 Strong understanding of web development and design lifecycle preferred.
 Experience with various research methodologies and tools and a keen understanding of when to use which
 Experience working with analytics platforms such as Omniture or Double Click
 Ability to work in cross-functional teams in high pressure situations 
 Demonstrated experience communicating broad strategic initiatives to key stakeholders 
 Willingness to simultaneously tackle multiple projects and challenges 
 Passion to rapidly build expertise on new businesses and industry verticals 
 Desire to create sustainable businesses and innovative user experiences for the largest brands on the web
 Social and mobile expertise a plus
 Strong presentation, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentations.
