Marketing Manager

A specialty eyewear brand with a focus on natural materials is looking for a contract to hire Marketing Manager. Bridging the gap between fashion and function, thir purpose is to inspire curiosity through the creative use of experimental materials and precision manufacturing techniques. Their Portland, Oregon based office and manufacturing facility is a creative and fast-paced atmosphere for those who enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment. They are looking for someone with a passion for marketing, design, and storytelling within a team of young, driven, entrepreneurs.

General Position Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and executing all activities in the marketing department. This position works closely with the Creative Director, Media team, and PR firm to develop and deploy all advertising initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Collateral Management:

  • Manage marketing line-plan to ensure on-time delivery of all assets for all product releases and campaigns. This includes product and lifestyle imagery, videos, newsletters, social media content, website/blog content, etc.
  • Work with Creative Director and Media team to concept collateral design, messaging, and distribution.
  • Work with freelancers/vendors for any outsourced design, production, etc.

  • Wholesale Marketing Support:

  • Work with Creative Director, Sales team, and Production team to concept, build, and implement retail fixtures and visuals.
  • Work with Sales team to continually improve processes for retail clinics, sales contest, and in-store events/activations.
  • Plan and execute wholesale marketing materials including catalogs, newsletters, one-sheets, etc.

  • Social Media Management:

  • All aspects of social media execution from start to finish. Strategy, campaigns, and daily management of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.

  • PR management:

  • Work with external PR agency to develop national and regional initiatives to promote brand awareness. This includes but is not limited to: bi-annual showrooms, media trips, influencer seeding, yearly planning for short and long-lead product launches, events, etc.

  • Tradeshow management:

  • Work with Sales team and PR agency to plan visual merchandising and marketing collateral for tradeshows. This includes booth design, on-site activations, editorial coverage, and production of wholesale materials such as catalogs, etc.

  • E-commerce Strategy

  • Work with Creative Director and Sales Manager to develop strategy for direct sales growth. This includes SEO, SEM, site design, and marketing strategies.

    Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 4 years of active marketing management/coordination
  • Minimum 2 years of public relations experience
  • Ability to deal with stressful circumstances in a fair, calm and understanding manner
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, namely Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign
  • Knowledge of basic HTML or experience creating email newsletters is a bonus
