Marketing Manager

Our client, the world's leading asset management company, is looking to add a Marketing Manager to their Institutional Marketing Team. This will be a full time 12 month contract - maternity cover - reporting into the Marketing Director responsible for the 'growth' market segment of the team. This role is responsible for defining and delivering marketing programmes around the company's Alternatives business in Europe including; Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Hedge Funds, across EMEA, and the Real Estate platform globally.
This role offers the opportunity to set the strategy and define the marketing approach for pan-EMEA alternatives and Global Real Estate activities to support the business and revenue objectives for these asset classes. This role needs someone who can garner a strong working relationship with the business, the sales team - the company's Alternatives Specialists and institutional marketing teams, (including Asia Pac and US marketing colleagues) on a day-to-day basis as well as a collaborative approach with the centralised marketing functions (i.e. events, digital marketing, corporate communications, creative services) in delivering alternatives marketing programmes.

**The Global Marketing and Communications (GMC) Team are dedicated to providing powerful marketing and communications campaigns and solutions guided by business priorities for Institutional, Retail and iShares businesses. GMC partners with Client Businesses, Investment teams and Strategic Product Management to set and deliver relevant and impactful marketing strategies appropriate for each market and client channel**

The EMEA Institutional marketing team is responsible for setting the marketing strategy and implementing marketing initiatives which support the key themes and objectives of the institutional business. The Team supports sales & account managers across Europe, Middle East & Africa and works closely with US and Asia Pacific marketing teams. Key audiences include Pension Schemes, Consultants, Financial Institutions and Official Institutions (Sovereign Wealth Funds and Central Banks). The overall goals of the marketing team are to increase the likelihood of a sale, better understand client needs, influence intellectual debate on relevant industry trends and achieve Brand/Market leadership in core asset classes.

They are looking for someone with the following qualities...
Proven experience in marketing within institutional asset management business; real estate /Alternatives knowledge and experience is required.
Proven stakeholder skills at a senior level.
Strategic and creative thinker with attention to detail and delivery focus – ability to think strategically combined with excellent tactical execution.
Project management skills, including ability to work with, and integrate input from, multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules; manage projects from end-to-end in a complex and changing environment.
Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility, and ability to adapt to changes in strategy and project plans – reliable, self-motivated with a strong 'can do' attitude.

The marketing programmes include:
1. Strategy & Brand
Strategy is aligned to central institutional investment themes and the brand is based on positioning and bringing together all of the company insights and product expertise to become clients' “go-to” investment partner. This role will be responsible for Alternatives (real assets) theme-driven strategy and campaigns, and the real estate campaigns in APAC, EMEA and the US.

2. Client Marketing & Client Communications
Develop and implement an effective marketing programme across a range of distribution channels, working collaboratively with colleagues across GMC globally. This includes, although may not be limited to, thought leadership, web presence, email campaigns and bespoke research.

3. Event Marketing
This role is responsible for defining the pan-EMEA Alternatives and Global Real Estate event strategy and content for all sponsored and partnership client facing events, as well as the company's proprietary event activity. As applicable, the Marketing team works closely with the regional Events Marketing and channel marketing teams on logistics and organisation. Event content will be developed in partnership with local business and marketing teams designed to align to the overall institutional marketing themes with adaptation as relevant for the different Continental European, US and Asian markets and client segments. Where appropriate, all events should adopt the company's holistic approach to present the breadth of the firm to clients.

Key Initiatives:
All aspects of the real assets theme campaign including messaging, thought leadership, proprietary / industry events as well as key metrics and engagement tracking.
Showcase the company's expertise and thought leaders to strengthen and deepen relationships with clients and prospects
Create the global real estate marketing strategy in line with the business objectives, and take responsibility for global co-ordination; liaising with Asia Pac and US colleagues where appropriate to deliver the strategy, and reporting to the business on all marketing activities, including PR.
Projects of particular note are the annual Real Estate client forums; one in Europe and one in Asia. Responsibilities cover all project aspects including managing senior stakeholders, external suppliers and shared GMC services to deliver event; designing and owning content, and programme to meet business objectives and build/enhance reputation among existing and prospect clients; overseeing day-to-day event management including budget, branding and communications.
