Marketing Manager

Summary: As a key member of the Marketing team, this position is responsible for promoting the electrical demand side management and energy efficiency programs in the residential and small commercial segments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Interfaces with electric utility clients nationwide and internal Comverge personnel in order to develop marketing strategies and to seek approval for annual, quarterly and monthly marketing campaigns for each market.
Actively incorporates learning from results of prior marketing campaigns (direct mail, email/web marketing, face to face sales, etc.), utility client feedback as well as feedback from customer surveys, etc.
Accomplishes customer enrollment targets by executing marketing plans within established budgets for each market. Coordinate with the operations team to ensure that customer enrollments match installation capabilities. Work with Comverge management to establish forecast enrollments and budgets necessary to achieve contractual requirements.
Develops innovative marketing channels and campaigns and customer targeting and segmentation strategies that assist in meeting enrollment targets.
Analyze customer data to identify optimal targets to approach for demand response programs.
Coordinates the work of outside contractors (video production or animation etc) and in-house creative agency as needed, to accomplish the timely launch of marketing campaigns and customer enrollment goals.
Tracks marketing campaigns and coordinates with finance team to ensure that expenses incurred on behalf of clients are appropriately allocated and clients are billed based on agreed upon rates.

Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Marketing or Communications or equivalent with five years experience in marketing consumer services (B2C or B2B). Direct mail experience preferred, though not required. Experience needed in working with cross-functional teams.

Travel: Travel is less than 15% with potential need for overnight travel and flying to customer locations
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing, Excel and PowerPoint; Project Management software and Database software.
