Come and work for the world's largest scientific society and one of the leading sources of authoritative scientific information! Immediate need for a Marketing Manager to work on-site in their Publications Division in the Washington, DC office. This is a temp to perm opportunity.

This position is responsible and accountable for the marketing of a portfolio of journals, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing. The position is responsible for the development, administration and execution of the marketing plans for the Journals including creation of appropriate and cost effective marketing strategies; implementation of marketing activities including the creation of campaigns from copywriting and layout/design recommendations to execution through marketing vehicles such as direct mail, advertising, web and e-mail promotions, and tradeshow exhibits.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages the development and implementation of annual individual marketing plans for the journal product line in support of the overall mission statement and strategic plan of the Publications Division.
2. Coordinates the execution of all planned promotion campaigns. Manages vendors as needed.
3. Manages product marketing launch activities for new journals, acting as the marketing lead with the product launch team.
4. Makes written and formal verbal presentations. Travels to tradeshows and meetings.
5. Works with the Channel Marketing Manager and Sales staff to ensure that Journals are being promoted to meet revenue goals through all appropriate sales channels, providing sales support materials and training resources as needed.
6. College degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of experience.
