Marketing Manager - Strategy and Operations

Our Fortune 500 client in the payment technology space is looking for an experienced Marketing Manager - Strategy and Operations, to manage and coordinate cross-functional (finance), multi-stakeholder activities.This role involves reviewing financial reports, managing budgets and forecasts as well as creating the strategy and developing the plan around marketing and communications activities. This is located in the SF Bay area and is a 4 month contract with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:
• Support daily operations of priority projects for the North America region around strategy, financial, accounting management and operations
• Support project teams in making critical decisions and escalations to senior management by providing regular executive summary and identifying risks of key activities’ impacting budget and forecast
• Work closely with project leader, project team, global planning and finance partners to prepare annual operating (AOP) budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate purchasing and invoicing with internal stakeholders and external partner agencies and vendors
• Develop and manage financial controls, tracking, reporting and trending analysis for the project. Work closely with the finance business partner to maintain forecast and budget targets and coordinate communications and deadlines. Provide reconciliation of actualized spend to always have a true reflection of budgets and liaison with accounts payable as needed
• Develop and maintain a senior executive dashboard for key performance metrics for priority projects
• Support global strategy and operations, marketing finance partners and regional central finance with periodic requests on project status updates for senior executive business management meetings
• Manage cross functional activities which will require a high degree of coordination, communication and collaboration
• Lead meetings for status updates around budget and forecasting with activity owners

Reporting Relationship
Reports to Senior Director, North America Marketing Strategy and Operations

Requirements
• Engage effectively with stakeholders at all management levels
• 5+ years of proven experience managing cross-functional, multi-stakeholder activities
• A BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required
• Experience supporting marketing function is desirable. Financial services and card payments experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate simple solutions to complex problems.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with financial reporting systems (e.g., Hyperion) preferred
• Solid analytical skills
• Ability to distill complex processes into discrete, simple, and most critical deliverables
• Demonstrate and leverage strong business and financial acumen
• Manage through influence, but without direct management authority. Use capabilities to influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectation
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
• Team oriented, collaborative, with demonstrated ability to succeed in a matrix organization where the ability to discover and internalize diverse stakeholder goals is critical to brokering solutions that are in the best interest of the company as a whole
• Independent judgment and mature decision making skills to deal with activities that often have wide implications
• Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities with other teams when needed
• Ability to negotiate and gain consensus between organizations where competing priorities exist
• Sound understanding and experience in managing budgets and forecasts.
• Good understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
