Come and work within the Publications Division of a large association in DC that publishes a weekly magazine focused on chemistry and chemistry-related topics. This is both print and online.

This large forward thinking association is seeking a Marketing Manager accountable for the marketing of a portfolio of some of the leading and most reputable journals in the chemical and related sciences. The candidate will develop marketing plans and programs to drive awareness and participation in the research community, as well as build a better understanding of those we serve. The incumbent will work within a team environment to build strong awareness of the publications.

This position is responsible and accountable for the product marketing of a portfolio of journals in the product marketing program, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing. The right candidate will be charged with the execution of the marketing plans for the portfolio of journals, including creation of appropriate and cost effective marketing strategies; implementation of marketing activities including the creation of campaigns from copywriting and layout/design recommendations to implementation of cost effective marketing vehicles such as direct mail, space advertising, web and e-mail promotions, and marketing at conferences; and analysis of results in relationship to both the annual budget and the overall goals and objectives of the Division. The incumbent is charged with accomplishing all goals and objectives specifically assigned to the Product Marketing area. This is accomplished through general consultation with the Assistant Director, Marketing, Sales Account Managers and Directors, New Product Development Managers, and Editors. Position works within a team environment to collectively achieve the goal of expanding the overall market influence of the Product Group.

College degree or equivalent experience; may have an advanced degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of experience. Experience related to creating and implementing marketing plans, new product introduction, competitive market analysis, strategic planning, market research, and promotion and financial analyses preferred.
