Date Starting: February 2nd, 2014
Salary: £54,600 pro rota = £210 p/d (Contract)


The client is one of the world's largest distributors of feature films to the international television marketplace (broadcast, pay cable, basic cable, satellite, pay-per-view, video-on-demand, digital platforms, etc.). It licenses over 50,000 hours of programming (including more than 6,000 features and 70+ current series), dubbed or subtitled in more than 40 languages, to telecasters and cablecasters in more than 175 countries.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Working with the Vice President of Marketing for Television, develop and implement the UK and Ireland marketing strategy for the company to maximize the lifetime value of our series, movies and animation. Work closely with the executives to co-ordinate cross-divisional marketing initiatives, and maximize publicity and marketing activities for the company properties on television.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. In conjunction with the Vice President and Marketing Co-ordinator, oversee the relationships with UK & Ireland broadcasters and clients, proactively managing all TV publicity, promotional plans, launch campaigns, creative assets, on-air sponsorships, interactivity, stunts, contests, etc.
2. Customize marketing tools to meet the needs of clients as necessary. Oversee the ad pub servicing and product planning across TV clients. Maintain and track information on all activities, events and campaigns, and assess the effectiveness of each activity. Liaise with the LA office as necessary
3. Develop pre- and post-sales marketing objectives and solutions in conjunction with the UK TV sales team. Direct and execute high impact marketing programmes, sales campaigns, events, training and tools to support the objectives across series, movies and animation
4. Proactively identify marketing opportunities with TV broadcast partners. Create and execute marketing plans/ partnerships across divisions and/or broadcast partners (i.e. cross-promotional opportunities between WHV retail partners and WBITV broadcast partners, support of theatrical releases on TV)
5. Manage the day-to-day relationships with SVOD and OTT partners, ensuring appropriate levels of marketing and programming support across our movies, series and animation
6. Supervise and manage any contractual marketing/ scheduling commitments may have with broadcast partners
7. Working closely with the Marketing Co-ordinator, develop and execute social media programmes for series in conjunction with broadcasters and colleagues to maximize the promotion of key properties in the digital space
8. Work closely with Digital Distribution, Consumer Products, Games and Home Video across TV lifecycle plans, planning and communicating launch information and windows, and recommending joint marketing initiatives and opportunities for key franchises
9. In conjunction with the Head of Marketing – TV & Animation Franchises, create and implement cross-divisional franchise activity across key animation properties.
10. Oversee creation of client events and screenings, press junkets, talent trips, etc.
11. Ensure continuous evaluation and communication of market intelligence, trends and developments

Qualifications/ Experience

· Educated to degree level or equivalent
· Broadcast experience essential
· Previous entertainment industry experience required, ideally having worked with US content
· B2B marketing/ client management experience required
· Solid background in developing and executing social media/ word of mouth programmes in a TV environment required
· Demonstrable passion for television and popular culture required

Skills/ Competencies:

· Strategic planner – proven success in developing and implementing commercially driven marketing plans
· Marketing literate – sound understanding of marketing principles and various entertainment mediums
· Effective interpersonal skills – strong communicator able to work with and influence people at all levels outside and within organisation
· Strong time management – able to manage many priorities and to use time effectively to achieve business goals
· Creative flair and ideas generator
· Team player – ability to work within a matrix organisation and the flexibility to cope with rapidly changing environment
· Attention to detail – must be analytical and have the ability to pay close attention to details
· Strong knowledge of marketing/ distribution for international and/ or domestic television
· Knowledge of media buying practices useful
· Takes the initiative and is creatively innovative and solutions focussed
· Demonstrates enthusiasm and passion for the role
