Marketing Manager - Commercial business

Aquent’s Atlanta area energy client is looking for a Marketing Manager for a long-term contract (possibly perm). The Marketing Manager will develop and implement marketing strategies and programs to support commercial business unit goals. The selected candidate will integrate with other functional teams to provide comprehensive guidance in all areas of marketing including strategy, product management, research, communications, advertising and public affairs for Commercial Regulated/Deregulated sales.
The Marketing Manager also manages all day to day, tactical and strategic marketing activities from inception to implementation to completion to increase customer count of residential and/or commercial accounts by acquiring new customers and retaining existing customers with a focus on high value prospects and customers. Duties include:
- Serves as subject matter expert and primary point of contact on marketing strategy/program management
- Develops and executing monthly acquisition mailings to targeted prospects
- Researches and makes recommendations to sales team on loyalty and/or retention strategies and executing loyalty communications to high risk, high value customers promoting rate plans and on-line services
- Develops and executes full year marketing, media, and messaging strategy from inception to completion; maximizing marketing budget by developing and executing optimal media channel mix for target audience such as print, online and other media forms; assessing impact of marketing initiatives and modify to increase customer acquisition and reduce customer attrition.
- Participates in the development and execution of computer software projects related to acquisition and retention enhancements; researching and analyzing marketing trends, best practices, and cost benefit analysis to develop sound business recommendations; develops, manages and makes recommendations on marketing budget for various programs
- Advises/consults with management to develop a sound marketing strategy to achieve business objectives.
- Researches, evaluates, and analyzes a variety of data sources to assess the impact of advertising and marketing activities on brand and advertising awareness, and customer acquisition and retention and make sound business recommendations to management to improve marketing strategy.
- Conducts annual brand health tracking study, maintaining unaided brand awareness at or above previous year levels; developing and sending online surveys to existing customers requesting opinions on relevant topics
- Uses feedback to recommend new initiatives or modifications to existing processes; conduct monthly on-line surveys to switch-aways and using information to enhance retention and recovery initiatives
- Manages staff and resources to leverage marketing strategies to maximize website as an acquisition and retention tool to include: managing and maintaining web-site sign-up project and enhancements; track impact of changes to on-line acquisitions
- Leads web modernization and other related projects with a focus on non-secure page design/layout and mobile marketing initiative
- Utilizes customer communications to increase on-line services; leveraging website, social media and other media outlets to improve brand perceptions and customer loyalty
- Participates in negotiations and making recommendations on selection of external advertising agencies; serving as primary liaison and point of contact between agencies and company; and manages agency's progress and compliance to contract agreements
- Consults and advises management and sales group on marketing activities and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the strategic business unit goals and objectives to increase company growth and customer needs in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in marketing, advertising or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of marketing, advertising or related field
- Must have excellent oral and written skills; must be able to communicate orally, in person and by phone; must have excellent problem solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and analytical (mathematical) abilities
- Must have a thorough knowledge of computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office (word, excel, access, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization in easy to understand terms; must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment; must have excellent project management and organizational skills;
- Possesses time management skills; must have extensive knowledge of market strategy including: design, implementation and assessment; must have negotiation skills and be able to manage outside vendor activities.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills; must be able to develop and manage a budget;
- Able to think tactically, strategically and day to day management; must have extensive knowledge of regulated/deregulated residential and/or regulated commercial sales
