Marketing Director

This is a unique, contract-to-hire opportunity for an experienced marketer. This is a new position for this organization and will provide great visibility and an opportunity to make your mark. This position requires you to be strategic, but also hands-on when it comes to execution.

You will:

 Oversee the daily operation of this development department within the marketing group

 Provide marketing insight across a broad range of customers within the medical field

 Create short and long term vision to improve digital marketing activities

 Collaborate with technology department on corporate website efforts to increase visibility and build engagement with target audience

 Assign projects to team members, balance workload among staff, and serve as audience development manager on self-assigned projects

 Assist teams with scheduling, planning, and execution of live events; also plans, develops, and oversees advertising, promotion, and participation of educational activities through a combination of

online, print, and electronic media

 Review grant budgets and proposals to ensure accuracy prior to grant submission

 Adhere to the expectations set by a highly budget- and deadline-driven business environment

 Perform competitive research and Monitor competitive products and marketing activities

 Travel as needed to help coordinate educational events, meet with vendors, and attend industry meetings

You should have:

 Team player skills and ability to lead by example

 Strong organization, planning, and communication skills

 Knowledge of digital marketing best practices and experience incorporating tactics including email, social media, and SEO into marketing strategy

 Medical marketing experience

 BA/BS degree

 Understands and can effectively work within a CME-accredited educational environment

 Proven track record of meeting audience development goals for CME/CE activities

 Good instincts and solid experience-based knowledge related to the location, timing, and scheduling of live educational activities

 Ability to apply “lessons learned” and “best practices” from past educational events and activities to help meet projected attendance and participation numbers

 Ability to think creatively—but stay within accreditor guidelines—to develop new ideas and tactics to help drive participation when numbers are falling short of projections

Additional Desired Skills/Knowledge

 Knowledge of industry guidelines (eg, ACCME, OIG, PhRMA, CBRN, ACPE, FDA) and an understanding of how these guidelines influence audience development tactics and language

 Medical or clinical degree would be helpful, but not required
