Marketing Director

Our client is looking for a temporary marketing director with experience in education and fundraising. This person will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives.

The Director develops integrated communication strategies and plans, and ensures that projects are completed on-time and on-budget, with the highest quality standards. This position serves as the main liaison with internal clients, working with them to develop marketing campaigns and programs. The Director also oversees market research, analysis and metrics, and the development of content for print, digital and face-to-face communications. Serve as the back-up to the Executive Director on media relations, issues management, and the management of the Marketing and Communications function.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
• A minimum of 6 years of marketing and communications experience, including print and digital;
• Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing and communication specialists;
• Experience developing communication strategies and plans;
• Client-relations experience;
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
• Experience with graphic design functions;
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, and lead a team under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong strategic, problem-solving and collaboration skills;
• In-depth understanding of digital and social media platforms and how to leverage them to further the goals of Alumni Relations and Development;
• Ability to interact with senior administrators throughout the University;
• Strong portfolio of writing that is clear, accurate and compelling;
• Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.

Preferred Qualifications:
• An advanced degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
• Experience in higher education advancement;
• Experience writing fundraising proposals;
• Basic-to-intermediate knowledge of Adobe design suite;
