Marketing Director

The Director of Marketing works in coordination with the executive management team to formulate, and oversee implementation of, the marketing goals, objectives, strategies and tactics for the corporation and its three primary divisions.  This will include developing a deep understanding of each division’s business, target audiences, competitors and marketing needs. 
The right candidate should be able to flow back and forth between management and hands-on operations, while managing the available internal and external resources for maximum impact in developing strong brands both internally and externally. Assessing the optimal departmental structure and then developing a high-performing department that meets, and exceeds, the expectations of executive management is a crucial element of this position. 

Essential Functions: 
• Provide the planning and leadership to the Marketing Department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed. 
• Create communcations between the marketing department and senior management, sales teams, creative teams, marketing coordinators and vendors. 
• Recommends, develops and implements appropriate business processes for the marketing department to insure responsiveness to all divisions and efficiency for the department. 
• Creates annual marketing plans for each of the company’s divisions including budgets, marketing calendars and measurement criteria. 
• Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. 
• Oversee the marketing strategy to maintain a consistent corporate image with corporate events, trade shows, social media, print media, campaigns and PR. 
• Internal communications to include newsletters, press releases and company announcements and campaigns. 
• Develop and execute social media strategy that is active and engaging. 
• Undertake continuous analysis of industry and consumer trends. 
• Represent the company at trade association meetings which will include some out-of-town and overnight travel. 
• Manages and maintains all printed and digital properties that represent the company and its divisions to external audiences including, but not limited to, brochures, sales flyers, websites, point-of-sale materials, email marketing, and advertising campaigns. 


Requirements: 
• Understands changing market dynamics and prepares the company by developing and implementing strategies to meet the changes in the marketplace. 
• Ability to hire, train and manage marketing department staff. 
• 15+ years of experience in marketing, advertising and public relations experience field, preferably for various companies of differing sizes and with a wide range of organizational structures. 
• Experience managing a staff of marketing professionals and external vendors in the successful implementation of strategic marketing plans. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Advertising 
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 
• Entrepreneurial mindset
