Marketing Data Analyst

For 9+ months, as a Marketing Data Analyst on the brand editorial marketing team, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on a dynamic, interdisciplinary and creative team, challenged with solving some big brand and reputational challenges for a major tech company. You will be on a team tasked with telling stories and creating experiences that exemplify the company’s values and intent. 

In this role, you will work closely with the analytics lead and brand editorial team, including senior managers, to understand their analytics needs, then design and implement data solutions to uncover insights that grow the business. You will use your creativity to create and implement custom tagging solutions (or write requirements for engineering teams), design and run tests, and build automated reports to scale.

Overall Responsibilities: 

  • Help drive the web analytics strategy and execution for Brand & Reputation websites and other flagship websites 
  • Work with content strategy and brand communications managers to provide feedback on overall editorial strategy and content cadence 
  • Develop and execute plans for formalized tracking and reporting on Brand & Reputation marketing campaigns, as well as individual content items 

Top 3 daily responsibilities: 

  • Provide regular data analysis and reporting, and dashboard development for Brand & Reputation websites 
  • Design, create, and/or implement custom analytics tagging solutions 
  • Develop and execute plans for ongoing optimizations on Brand & Reputation websites, from test designs/concepts to execution through reporting and analysis 

Required skills: 

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business or a related degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience) 
  • 2-4 years of experience in an Analytical role such as Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Statistical or Consulting 
  • 2-4 years of experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics) and tag management systems (Google Tag Manager) 
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript 

Nice to have skills: 

  • Strong understanding of web analytics, testing and optimization, and dashboard development 
  • Experience gathering data from multiple disparate sources to build a centralized data framework 
  • Excellent quantitative reasoning skills; ability to glean useful insights from data sets 
  • Close attention to detail and demonstrated ability to execute according to plan and deliver measurable results in a timely manner 
  • Proficiency in a database query language (e.g. SQL) 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an ambiguous environment 
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting to a wide range of audiences from peers to leadership 
  • Proven strong organizational, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills, as well as outstanding written and oral communication skills
