Marketing Copywriter

We’re working with a global Education industry client to find an advertising copywriter to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for writing both direct-to-consumer and internal advertising/marketing copy managed by the Higher Ed Creative team. Projects include online and print pieces such as websites and web pages, postcards, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, email campaigns, and product information.

Start Date: Beginning of August
Duration: 3-4 months
Location: Onsite client’s office in San Francisco
Hours: 35 per week
Rate: $25-$30/hr DOE

Responsibilities
• Assist in developing creative and strategic marketing/advertising campaigns with product teams
• Write copy for all advertising/communication projects (external and internal) that is not only on message and on schedule, but conversational in tone and connects with readers on an emotional level
• Project management. Attend and participate in launch meetings; collect copy source materials; draft project launch memos; collaborate with designers and/or online managers to ensure copy and design work hand in hand for effective, compelling ads; and prepare final Word files for the designer/media specialist.
• Write and manage Product Information Pages (External Marketing Copy). Includes working with Marketing to write emotional and informational copy that will be the basis of future advertising pieces, project managing both materials collection and routing/approvals, and posting copy for all products throughout the year in content management system (internal/external).
• Write and manage all e-marketing campaigns. Includes strategic campaign planning, copy writing, and managing workflow as well tracking campaign stats.
• Proofread all copy before routing to Marketing or Design departments, and again before going live/to print.

Requirements
• Conversational/emotional tone and ability to write customer-focused copy
• Exceptional grammar and copyediting/proofreading skills
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Light HTML skills (for creation and editing of email marketing campaigns)
• Understanding of and experience with social media advertising a plus
