Sr. Marketing Writer – AWF (approx. 20-30 hours per week)

We’re seeking a senior Marketing Writer who can create and edit content for a site redesign project. This person will help us refocus our content to achieve our business goals, as well as to improve our SEO keyword and page rankings. The writer will be reworking existing site content and creating new content to align with our user’s journey and lifecycle across our site to enhance and improve goal conversion in terms of lead generation and product selection.

The writer may also work on a variety of other projects that target current and prospective merchants, as well as other marketing communications to a variety of audiences. This person will develop content that clearly explains the benefits of Magento products, services, and offerings, with a specific focus on merchants to help them achieve success. Additional audiences include partners, developers, and others who interact with the Magento brand.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Magento or other eCommerce storefront solutions, and the ability to distill complex business concepts into simple and compelling content to create measurable results. The writer must also have the ability to work on specific parts of the site while maintaining a holistic approach to the overall user experience across all areas of the site.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing and editing B2B web site content for brand messaging, as well as product and other offerings, to enhance comprehension, consideration, preference, and selection
• Developing other online content, emails, blog posts, newsletters, case studies and whitepapers geared toward helping merchants understand how to maximize their success with Magento
• Developing content for other marketing initiatives and audiences to increase comprehension, consideration, and engagement
• Collaborating with a cross-functional team to gather input and move projects forward in a timely manner
• Helping to establish standards in terms of site content and messaging, terminology, calls to action, and voice/tone as they apply to different customer segments

• 5+ years experience writing for B2B solutions
• Has knowledge of the eCommerce platforms and storefront solutions
• Understands the needs of online merchants and other business partners within the eCommerce space
• Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred
• Experience working with marketing and other business units to achieve goals and measureable results
• Able to translate technical or complex business ideas into digestible, user-friendly content
• Experience working with and defining a branded voice and tone
• Experience maximizing SEO for a web site
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and proactively prioritize work
• Has worked in a test and learn environment to optimize messaging
• Must be Los Angeles- or San Jose-based
