Marketing Copywriter

Aquent's client, an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products, is seeking a Marketing Copywriter for a 6–month assignment.

As a Marketing Copywriter on this team, you’ll win customers and shape product experiences by writing content for engaging, timely marketing campaigns and communications. You’ll need to perfectly reflect the identity, voice, tone, and functionality of each product you support.

You must be a stellar writer. You have a portfolio of work that demonstrates content that attracts, engages, and wins customers, exposing them to new products and helping them adopt these products as part of their everyday lives.

Your work will be varied and exciting. You’ll work most closely with marketers, designers, and content strategists, but also researchers, product managers, engineers, and customer support to produce a cohesive message throughout the entire user experience. You’ll write sparkling creative for marketing communications that drive our business.

By leveraging our existing style guides and pursuing a deep understanding of the products, you’ll use empathy, reason, and data to inform content choices.

- Write and manage copy for a variety of email campaigns.
- Develop copy for other marketing channels, such as the website and blog.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams (designers, UX writers, researchers, prototypers, product managers, legal, and engineers) to define requirements.
- Manage projects and stakeholders, including legal reviews.
- Provide input and feedback on marketing calendar.
- Write copy for integrated marketing campaigns and standalone ads.
- Edit copy written by others and provide writing guidance to marketing team.
- Manage campaign content by using the CMS; act as a checkpoint for editorial QA process.
- Review customer response metrics and use them to improve success.

Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or another writing-related field -- or equivalent practical experience
- Experience developing engaging email, website, and other types of copy related to product marketing.
- Strong understanding of consumer apps. Experience in marketing consumer apps.
- Ability to understand and follow style guides, and strong familiarity with content management/publishing tools, spreadsheets, and documents.
- 5 years experience scoping work and collaborating with stakeholders.
- 7 years online writing, editing, and content strategy experience.

- BA/BS Degree in any field
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in writing copy for marketing purposes and/or as a copywriter; 7 years experience preferred
- Experience working with cross functional teams closely with UX, product, legal, and marketing partners
- Previous copywriting experience in a digital environment

Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in an agile product development environment; able to adapt quickly and establish solutions independently.
- Perform at a high level with minimal guidance. Devise and implement improvements to best practices, tools, and processes team-wide. Make decisions based on credible metrics and communicate according to well-reasoned analysis.
- Strong curiosity about users and how to anticipate their needs by understanding behaviors.
- Solid understanding of consumer apps and marketing environments, as well as developing and nurturing cross-functional relationships.
