Marketing Coordinator/Specialist

This posting is for a Marketing Coordinator/Specialist opening with our Fortune500 Financial Services client: *This is a 12-18 month contract position, on-site, in Boston, MA.

The role is one of a marketing coordinator with three areas of focus:
1. Conferences, sponsorships, and events
2. The Employee engagement program
3. Marketing support.

Conferences and Sponsorships: This person will manage the execution of conference sponsorships, conference participation by executives who may also be featured speakers, and internal and external events. They will act as the project manager and also handle registrations, logistics, and collateral materials. They will create and manage the dynamic conference and sponsorship calendar for the team and keep a database of feedback from the various conferences and sponsorships. Conferences, events and meetings will often draw an international audience and may also occur outside of the US. Additionally, many of these events involve the most senior level of the bank's management including CEO and/or his direct reports. Events may also involve government or United Nations officials. There will be some travel to support a major sponsorship or events but this is not an events role that requires constant travel. This role will also involve managing a steady stream of sponsorship requests using the established decisioning criteria in our conference strategy and drawing on our communications agency, and internal communications partners.

Employee engagement program support: This is a global program with more than 15,000 participants. This person will provide back-up to the manager and have the following responsibilities

· Day-to-day administrative operations including distribution groups, listserv, websites
· Creation and management of educational resources (flyers, presentations, reference guides, content research and MRC reviews)
· Communications – monitor program mailbox, act as first point of contact for chapters, write monthly action email and newsletter activity updates
· Assist with program's ambassador training
· Logistics – scheduling webinars, monthly calls, etc
· Research and reporting (monthly LCV)
· Organize annual events in Boston
· Provide assorted support for environmental/recycling awareness program

Marketing: We do not have a large marketing program. We have one-off, discrete marketing projects from time-to-time. This person would submit materials for the team to our internal compliance review process. They would also handle the sizing and delivery of ads when we run an external ad and work with our internal agency to update or create collateral materials, which are often in the form of PowerPoint slides.


· Two to Five years professional marketing experience with a college degree
· Strong communications skills, verbal and written, and including PowerPoint expertise
· Knowledge of events logistics including catering, invitation, AV and registration processes, etc
· Deadline orientation
· Extreme attention to detail
· Excellent time management skills
· Project budget management

Some knowledge of environmental issues would be very helpful, but deep expertise is not required.
Marketing and events experience is more important.
Experience with a large corporation is ideal
