Position: MarCom Specialist
Reports to: Sr. Director, Marketing Communications
Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Position Summary:
Reporting into the Senior Director of Global Marketing Communications, the MarCom Specialist will drive the promotion of marketing programs in the Chromatography and Mass Spec Division (CMD) division as an integrated offering through the most effective communication vehicles and in a customer-oriented manner. The MarCom Specialist is responsible for developing and executing customer facing content at vertical and product levels from traditional to digital deliverables , examples being direct
marketing , product introductions, sales collateral (data sheets, brochures, flyers),digital marketing, social media (google ad words, linked IN, Twitter) and more. This position involves working with the marketing managers and MarCom peers to develop and implement effective promotional plans for products/solutions, as well as actively participating in project teams that address how to message our offering in direct alignment with the way customers and prospects work.

The MarCom specialist will also partner with cross functional partners (social media, digital marketing, Design Center, 3rd party agencies) to plan and create customer facing content at vertical and product levels from traditional to digital deliverable.

Key Responsibilities:
Partner with marketing and MarCom peers to develop and produce deliverables as part of the campaign.
Develop marketing communications tools, included but not limited to: literature, collateral, advertising, websites/digital, social media, video, presentations and publicity. This may include, but is not limited to: guiding projects through internal review and approval, working with internal teams, agency partners, and external vendors.
Knowledge of systems and tools for effective project management such as Quickbase.
Manage timelines at the deliverable level
Exceptional copy writing and editing skills, with the ability to work across media, from print to digital
Ensure that content is reviewed and taken through internal approval channels

Self-motivated, ability to plan and collaboratively run several projects at one time.
Personable with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to meet project deadlines in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently and on teams to influence team decisions
Planning - demonstrated project planning skills.
Teamwork - close collaboration with the team, including MarCom partners such as e-marketing, creative teams, regional MarCom, digital marketing , PR, media , analytics and marketing managers.
Customer - passionate about messaging to the right person at the right time with the right offer; a working understanding of B2B customer lifecycle management.
Continuous Learning – clear appetite for learning; can show how newly gained knowledge and skill can be applied on the job.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in the life science industry marketing or marketing agency
preferred.
Promotional copywriting experience
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and influence others at all levels to move projects forward
High level of intensity and comfort level with change
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
