Marketing Communications Manager

Location: Boston/Providence or Bay Area (open to both regions). If hired in the Bay Area, they would work from the San Francisco office (475 Sansome) daily. If based in Boston or Providence, they will be assigned to a local office, but there will likely be some telecommuting involved.

Contractor Description:
The Marketing Communications Manager will work closely with global PR stakeholders, agency personnel and integrated marketing communications team to assist in the execution of strategic marketing communications programs established to promote our client and its award-winning solutions. They will help maintain marketing communications strategies that effectively project the message for programs and campaigns; partner with marketing and executive stakeholders to help execute a comprehensive, integrated marketing communications plan; help facilitate the internal review and approval processes for marketing communications plan deliverables, continually updating for accuracy to reflect new business policies and procedures as directed. Assist in the execution of executive communications initiatives, including objectives, content development and writing, approvals, and distribution; all with the objective of solidifying the client as the thought leader for marketing cloud solutions.

Experience/Background:
· 5-8 years experience required managing a communications operation
o (e.g., advertising campaigns, web promotions, sales collateral, speeches and presentations, white papers, press releases, etc.)
· Minimum five years experience in public relations in high tech field (agency or client side)
· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in journalism, English, marketing, communications, or related field is required
o Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
· Self starter; deadline driven
· Can work independently with minimal oversight
· Ability to get things done with frequently tight daily deadlines
· Strong attention to detail
· Outstanding project management skills
· Collaborative team player
· Professionally interact with upper management and a global team
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated experience with campaign launches

Key Responsibilities Include:
· Executing on a communications strategy across all global marketing channels
· Interface with fellow and corporate stakeholders to continuously inform and update marcom plans as directed
· Assist in the creation of individual marcom planning efforts for such things as major events and programs, leveraging the overall marcom plan so as to maintain consistency and maximize resources
· Work with established marcom metrics and marketing ops team to help provide insight into marcom effectiveness and aid in optimization of programs and resources in order to most effectively meet marcom and business objectives
· Assist in the development of exec-level communications to promote the client's thought leadership and aid in writing of additional communications assets as needed and/or able
· Maintain working relationships with corporate PR counterparts and the various PR agencies at HQ, within region and globally
· Assist in the execution of global integrated marketing communications plans
· Speakers Bureau and Awards programs logistical coordination, including monitoring call for papers deadlines, submissions, etc.
· Assist with the analysis of ROI metrics and help optimize plans accordingly
· Help align plans with associated marcom activities such as social, web and content in order to maximize overall PR objectives
· Create regular reports as directed to inform the global team on ongoing activity and special projects and campaigns
· Minimal travel required

Competencies Include:
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Basic knowledge of multi-media software (e.g., Quark, Freehand, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro, etc.) preferred but not required
