Marketing Communications Coordinator

Major Accountabilities:

•Write and edit straightforward and simple content for communications programs and projects including materials for newsletters, Web sites, tool kits, and other forms of internal and external communications to support clients’ strategic communications requirements.

•Proofread and coordinate production of communications materials. Ensure final placement of materials, including distribution, and provide miscellaneous follow up.

•Coordinates, as needed, presentation preparations, including speeches and talking points, researching and analyzing information, planning logistics, graphic presentation and overall coordination.

•Function as communications assistant on programs and projects initiated by practice leaders or other communications and external relations staff by researching/collecting data, coordinating project schedules, maintaining project budgets, and numerous e-mail and database distribution lists as necessary to ensure high quality deliverables

•Function as editorial and production assistant for national newsletter. Proof newsletter using Associated Press and company style guidelines.

•Tracking and monitor communications metrics in support of departmental and org goals

•Must be highly organized and work well under pressure.

•Will be expected to communicate key information effectively to a variety of audiences through written and oral presentations. Essential skills include:

•Regularly meet with clients (who may be peers) and advise them of their options and give feedback on their requested needs

•Meet daily with communication team members to address plans, design, and calibrate schedules and deadlines


QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong written and verbal skills

•Demonstrated problem-solving skills and detail oriented

•Client centric attitude and approach

•Proven project management skills

•Thorough knowledge of Macintosh and Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint.

•Working knowledge of portable document format (PDF) technologies, file transfer, encoding, and compression options

•Working knowledge of web-based communication/new and social media


Preferred Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications, business, or related field

•3+ years experience in in-house communications department, marketing department or advertising agency

•3-4 years experience in a design firm, production house, in-house corporate publications department, or advertising agency working in a Macintosh or PC environment working as a traffic coordinator, project manager, or assistant account supv.
