Marketing Communication Specialist / Production Coordinator

Research, draft, and implement media plans for direct marketing promotions; ; research, select, test, and order lists for print and email/web campaigns from brokers, list owners, and in-house sources; issue list processing instructions to vendors; track activities and resolve problems relating to media schedule, mail schedule, inventory, and source key tracking; fulfill book review requests; maintain files of reviews and press notices and share with staff; conduct follow-ups on testimonials; serve as a backup to copywriter for media releases, outbound emails, past buyer letters, exhibition flyers, and web updating; coordinate production of print marketing materials between outside agency and printers through internal production control department; manage vendor relationships and resolve problems regarding production of materials with outside printers, graphic designers, and mailshops; coordinate process from start through printing and mailing; recommend and review all invoices for new media resources, including list rental and acquisition opportunities, space advertising placement, and email promotional opportunities; analyze and provide reports for promotional activities such as list performance, promotion history, and email campaigns; maintain expense records for promotions; schedule and maintain all inserts-in-service and inserts in fulfillment package promotions; participate in special projects; and perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years’ experience in direct and email marketing including list selection and media planning; experience in publication and e-book environments desirable; strong writing skills preferred; demonstrated knowledge of direct marketing policies and procedures, outbound email marketing campaigns, identification, selection, and use of mailing and email lists; demonstrated ability to research and provide analytical reports on media and markets; general knowledge of the technical aspects of the printing process, digital production, and pre-press requirements; proven knowledge and ability to coordinate and traffic production of direct marketing projects; strong written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with persons on all levels
