Marketing Campaign Operations Manager

Collaborate with members of Marketing Solutions COE, Brand teams, JV partners, agencies and other external partners, as well as other internal client support teams to support the delivery of integrated multi-channel relationship marketing initiatives.

Specific Role and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Brands, Agencies and Market Research to support measurement of integrated multi-media relationship marketing initiatives, including appropriate in-market tests, e.g., segment, offer, creative, contact frequency, media type.
• Manage resources assigned to delivery of marketing campaigns by ensuring that complex business and functional requirements are converted into technical campaign specifications in compliance with vetted and approved processes.
• Apply strong relationship marketing capabilities and an understanding of relational database architectures, including the strategic use of data, along with an ability to develop data driven decision support systems and analytical processing tools (e.g. Unica).
• Successfully manage external and internal resources necessary in the operation of relationship marketing for use by internal customers throughout the organization.
• Manage external database vendor relationship and its communications with other external vendors managed by others, including fulfillment, telemarketing, email, interactive/web and data entry vendors.
• Provide feedback to team to build alignment across the department, the matrix team, and with all business partners.
• Support efforts of brand teams to efficiently retain customers, acquire customers, increase product usage and maximize customer lifetime value through effective use of relationship marketing.
• Collaborate with members of the Marketing Solutions COE, Brand teams, JV partners, agencies and other external partners, as well as other internal support teams to support the delivery of integrated multi-channel relationship marketing initiatives.
• Develop and approve budgets for delivery of services from database vendor and other external partners for routine delivery of campaigns based on approved rates and scope of work.
• Identify needs for process refinement and or solution enhancements and escalate to Marketing Solutions management accordingly.
• Identify requests that are out of scope and escalate to Marketing Solutions management accordingly.
• Identify internal and external resource gaps and escalate to Marketing Solutions management accordingly.
• Provide feedback to team to build alignment across the department, the matrix team, and with all business partners.

Skills/Experiences Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree is required with strong program/project management background as well as business process definition and/or improvement focus; an MBA is preferred
• 10+ years experience managing a team in a matrixed organization
• 8+ years experience of successfully managing and implementing large-scale cross-functional initiatives, sales and marketing operations, project/process management experience preferred
• 5+ years managing database marketing campaigns
• Strong background in technology and databases. Must be able to lead design discussions and participate in a meaningful way in IT related strategy discussions.
• Must be an accomplished motivator. Must drive maximum performance while also driving loyalty.
• Expert project manager with compelling organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing and sales business processes
• Experience in applying systematic and rigorous analytics methods to improve business processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Knowledge of SQL, marketing campaign tools, and ETL tools is desired
• Ability to affect vendor compliance, responsibility/ownership and educate organization on database marketing best practices.
• Applied knowledge in the strategic and operational use of data, as well as relational database architecture & design
• Basic understanding of healthcare consumer and professional marketing principles.
• Hands-on experience working with robust Campaign Management tools such as Unica or Aprimo.
• Management responsibility for database marketing programs, including vendor selection, management and fiscal control.
• Strong collaborator in building working relationships with agencies and cross-functional teams.
• Works independently leveraging agency/vendor partners to accomplish goals as well as understand how to build a core team of internal experts.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multi-faceted, complex online marketing programs, both with internal and outside vendors/agencies.
• Complete comprehension of interactive industry accepted measurements.
• Strong understanding of optimization techniques involving A-B and multivariate testing.
• Strong analytical skills in pulling meaning from various sources of data.
• Strong understanding of database technology and other operational execution elements; how to make all customer contact points effective and efficient.
• Meticulous attention to detail while handling multiple responsibilities.
• Understanding of privacy issues and regulatory environment.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
