Marketing Assistant

In this role you will have the opportunity to change the way consumers explore the world around them using this top tech company's products. Reporting to the Product Marketing Manager on this Content and Community team, you will play a crucial role in promoting the Local Guides program and brand via direct response marketing channels. In close partnership with the Product, Content, Partnerships, Analytics and Community teams, you will grow consumer adoption and earn brand love. Both creativity and analytical thinking will come into play as you propose, launch and optimize marketing efforts and their corresponding user journeys.

Responsibilities:
- Launch and optimize direct response marketing campaigns (display advertising, paid social, paid search, custom ad products, etc.)
- Track performance of each marketing campaign and provide regular KPI updates and views of progress against goals
- Carefully manage campaigns to assigned marketing budgets.
- Manage relationships with specific external marketing partners
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and external agencies to develop marketing collateral.
- Propose, execute and analyze marketing experiments to increase brand awareness and user conversion rate.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, such as email CRM efforts to Zagat, marketing collateral localizations for Local Guides, and consumer research

Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of relevant work experience focused on direct response marketing
- 1 year of work experience with digital marketing tactics
- AdWords certification and experience with Google Display Network, AdMob network, YouTube ads and/or Gmail Sponsored Promotions
- Advanced spreadsheet skills
- Strong execution, analysis and problem solving skills

Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency across all Google Apps for Work products
- Proficiency using Adobe Photoshop
- Extensive knowledge of the digital media and mobile marketing landscape
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a demonstrated track record working across complex cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with email CRM management
