Job Description:
The Digital Marketing department is responsible for the creation and maintenance of online / web content related to
the Lawson Products & Kent-Automotive websites. This requires development of new content, site search updates &
maintenance, weekly updates and monthly maintenance of routine information. The Digital Marketing team maintains
all customer facing web properties and online communications.
This entry-level position requires a data geek with the ability to leverage on-site search data to improve website
search results enabling customers to find products. This individual will work to improve our presence in Google, Bing
and Yahoo by focusing on improving product and site content—focusing on SEO and best practices. Individual will
also run operational reports, including, sales, web customer service call center and search reports. In addition, this
role will provide operations / reporting support for web customer service and route web escalations as needed.
He/She will also execute QA testing efforts for on-going maintenance and large enhancement projects on the
website. This individual is responsible for executing manual and automated test scripts while managing all activities
in the plan to ensure that the objectives are met and that the website works as expected. The automated testing will
require use of our testing automation tool (HP Quality center) and Excel. In the event of large enhancement projects
on the website, this role will be responsible for developing test plans and test scripts. He or she will participate in QA
reviews, identify, document and track system bugs by working closely with the Product Development Team.

Must Haves:
1. Demonstrated ability to create and effectively apply new technologies or processes and the ability to work
with others and to learn ‘on the fly’
2. Proficient with Excel including vlookup function and formulas
3. Ability to produce reports in regards to search, sales, customer service activities and other operational areas
4. Ability to precisely execute existing test cases and create new test cases based on existing templates
5. Understanding of data management (management of data for test scenarios)
6. Ability to work with our SEM vendor and Product Management team to review content, ad copy, campaigns
and reports
7. Ability to implement SEO best practices through established guidelines to optimize site content
Nice to Haves:
8. Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics as well as knowledge of HTML & CSS a plus
9. Familiarity with a testing automation tool is a plus
10. Interest and ability to improve the on-site search tool
Education and/or Experience:
11. Graduate of or individual enrolled in an accredited 4-year College or University

14. Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
15. Organized, self-directed, and able to perform with minimal direction
16. Ability to ask questions, clarify ambiguous situations and react quickly to changes in direction
17. Will gain valuable experience with SEO in-house programs, keyword research, content development,
establishment of SEO best practices, and SEO site management in order to increase organic traffic
18. Perform other Digital Marketing and eCommerce support activities as needed
