Marketing Analytics Product Owner/Manager

This role requires a deep understanding of marketing processes and their reliance on data. To be successful in this position, YOU must have a position on how future Marketing functions can be improved through the use of better/more accessible analytics and data. This is particularly true as the migration to a service-based business approach to product delivery drives some fundamental changes to Marketing across the organization.

This role will be a part of a broader team who has a charter to build a new marketing data platform to deliver on the challenges of a changing business model. In addition to partnering with a broad team to plan for the future capabilities this platform will deliver, this role will take ownership over ensuring that current capabilities are replicated and enhanced in the new environment.

• Work in a consultative manner with the broader Marketing organization to understand current marketing processes / functions in detail
• Partner with data teams to understand what data is currently available through a distributed set of platforms, and how that data maps to future capabilities
• Develop and maintain a library of metrics and calculations in the current, and how those metrics may change in the new
• Guide the development of Ad-Hoc analytical data environments
• Lead the collection of requirements to develop analytical datasets for consumption by various functional and business teams
• Guide the implementation of enterprise grade analytical tools to support marketing analytics teams (e.g. SAS, R, SPSS)
• Partner with Marketing Effectiveness and Marketing Operations teams to establish a BI/report distribution platform
• Establish analytics operations practices with technical teams to ensure analytical datasets are available, on-time and as expected
• Work with technical teams to develop data normalization routines to improve data quality
• Adopt a “customer-centric” approach to data and analytics deliver to better understand how business teams interact with data and analytics platforms


• Familiarity with noSQL platforms (via HIVE or PIG)

• Knowledge of data structures, with a working knowledge of database design 

• Business process and marketing communications & measurement.

• This is a 12 month, full-time, onsite, W-2 contract position located in San Jose, CA
