Marketing Analyst

The following skills are needed to be successful in this job:

• Ability to understand client objectives and translate questions into insightful analyses.
• Advanced Excel skills including the ability to manipulate large quantities of data. Familiarity with pivot tables, charts and macros.
• Strong analytical capabilities and willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools and software.
• Comfortable interpreting data and providing appropriate business recommendations based on conclusions.
• Understanding of web analytics and/or online measurement and metrics
• Self-starter, with the ability to roll up your sleeves and think on your feet to support ad hoc data inquiries and ensure that basic reporting needs are met.
• Outstanding communication skills; ability to work with many different groups including internal client-facing teams
• Project management; ability to manage multiple projects across critical yet often fluctuating deadlines
• Innovative thinking
• Passion for data analysis
• Passionate about online marketing, social media and media solutions

Desirable experiences:
• 5 years of business experience
• Experience working as a media researcher in an ad agency or online publisher
• Experience with web analytics, in particular Adobe Omniture
• Experience with business analytics and marketing intelligence
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL queries, OLAP cubes, statistical models and data mining
• Undergraduate degree required, MBA or advanced degree a plus
