Marketing & Sales Engagement Specialist

We have a temp-to-perm position available with our telecommunications client in Herndon, VA. This is an amazing opportunity to work with a global company as the Marketing & Sales Engagement Specialist.

The main responsibility of this individual is to develop and drive marketing and sales-related initiatives to enhance operations and promote business growth. The ideal person has telecommunications experience, has strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitates partnering primarily with the group of companies, including facilitating communications between the respective sales teams, organizing and managing account mapping sessions, leading sessions (e.g., roadshows) to discuss go-to-market strategies and product sweet spots, working with all necessary parties to promptly address roadblocks or challenges, etc.
• Directs the development and rollout of local industry and client-specific marketing and charitable events, including working with sister companies, whenever possible. Proposes, develops, and implements demand generation programs and campaigns. Develops a way to measure ROI of marketing events so that management can evaluate their effectiveness.
• Develops documentation needed for client engagements, including targeted marketing messages aimed at addressing clients’ pain points, by working closely with the members of the sales teams.
• Leads the development of a marketing plan that provides specifics about events, programs, and campaigns, the costs of such activities, and their associated benefits to the organization.

• Able to proactively communicate with key decision-makers throughout the company.

• Contributes either directly or indirectly to the marketing decisions.
• Drives forward projects to implement the marketing strategy, thereby delivering significant long-term value for the company.
• Directly or indirectly contributes to the achievement of marketing KPIs and targets.


• Works under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Sales Engagement.
• Serves as a valued advisor and commands an appropriate level of credibility and authority.
• Presents business cases, briefs, plans, reports, etc. to senior management.


• At least 5 years of experience required, preferably in the telecom or IT industry, in a marketing role.
• Experience developing strategic marketing plans.
• A self-starter who understands exactly what a project is all about from the outset, and how to complete it quickly and effectively.
• Converses with individuals and groups, internal and external, about their needs and asks the right questions to understand essential requirements.
• Employs empirical data, past experiences, and intuition when making decisions. Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level business requirements into functional requirements and quality, and abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding.
• Helps negotiate priorities and resolves conflicts among project stakeholders. Understands how to communicate difficult and/or sensitive information tactfully. Develops and delivers informative, impactful, and well-organized presentations. Manages expectations effectively.
• Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to consistently prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget.
• Expert skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proficiency in is required. Proficiency in Jigsaw, Uniworld, RainKing, Dun & Bradstreet, and other sales tools considered a plus.
