Marketing & Media Relations Assistant

Our Higher Ed client is looking for an eager and energetic Marketing Assistant to come on temp to perm!

This person will be responsible for Producing and managing distribution of news releases including researching, drafting, proofreading, and disseminating digital posting and social sharing news content.

•Works collaboratively with the Digital Marketing team to employ best practices when posting/sharing news releases.

•Works in collaboration with other members of the PR team and/or relies on media database services to identify target news outlets and contacts for news releases.

•Aggressively pitches target news outlets and contacts to generate brand-building coverage.

•Continuously monitors and builds knowledge of the changing local and national news landscape.

•Facilitates connection between Babson thought leaders and members of the news media; manages process through final publication of stories, keeping the Director of PR apprised at all times.

•On semi-annual basis, compiles and produces media coverage summary with analysis.

•Supports crisis communications activities as needed, including being available to serve during crisis situations.

•Writes basic correspondence, reports, and other materials for Chief Marketing Officer’s signature. Proofreads and edits copy generated by supervisor and others. Prepares presentation decks and supporting materials.

•Maintains Chief Marketing Officer’s calendar and schedules a variety of meetings. Helps create agendas and organizes weekly team meetings, retreats, and learning workshops. Takes, transcribes, and distributes minutes from meetings as needed.

•Enters marketing projects generated by Chief Marketing Officer and the PR team into project management system and manages the process with Babson’s in-house Creative Services team to ensure projects are completed on time and on specification.

•Schedules and coordinates photography and videography logistics for institutional marketing efforts; maintains library of media release forms.

•Helps manage marketing department budgets including monitoring and assisting with budget preparation and record keeping and processing invoices.

•Orders, organizes, and maintains office supplies, equipment, and space as needed.

•Handles all facilities requests related to building maintenance.

•Supervises Student Assistants.

•Assumes additional, departmental specific responsibilities, as required.
